Colman Domingo’s Co-Star Throws Hat in Ring to Join Him in Live-Action MCU Project

A year ago, there were whispers that Colman Domingo might be considered for the role of Kang the Conqueror after Jonathan Majors was let go. However, as Domingo later clarified, these were merely rumors. Fortunately, he is now a part of the Marvel universe through the animated series “You’re Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,” where he portrays Norman Osborn. Recently, he expressed his desire to reprise this role in a live-action project. Now, we have insight into what one of his co-stars thinks about this, and it’s quite endearing.

What Did Colman Domingo Say About Playing Norman Osborn And How Did His Co-Star Respond?

A notable actor from “Sing Sing” recently chatted with Josh Horowitz on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. In this conversation, he was queried about potentially entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When answering, he hinted at his role in the latest Spider-Man series (which has garnered positive reviews). Yet, he also expressed a desire to transition from animation to live-action as Osborn and make a big impact on the silver screen. To top it off, another comment further fueled my excitement.

Zeno Robinson, known for voicing Harry Osborn in “You’re Friendly Neighborhood“, later expressed his thoughts on X platform regarding his on-screen father’s remarks. Not only was he thrilled at the possibility, but he also made it clear that he wants to play a live-action version of Harry. His enthusiasm for this role seems genuine and sincere.

I’d be genuinely keen to reprise my role as his son in live action within the MCU, not just talking about it. My career has always involved acting, and I’ve had on-camera experience. Moreover, over the last five years, I’ve been honing my skills specifically for on-camera roles. 🙏🏾

I genuinely admire the actor’s boldness in expressing interest in portraying a younger version of Osborn on the silver screen. Regardless of whether people are excited about it or not, I, personally, would welcome this opportunity.

Why Do Colman Domingo And Zeno Robinson’s Comments Make Me Excited?

Zeno Robinson and Colman Domingo are both proficient in acting, but Domingo’s extensive portfolio, which encompasses films and television series such as “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” “Euphoria,” “Rustin,” and “The Color Purple,” is particularly well-known. Robinson, a veteran voice actor, has also utilized his vocal talents for shows like “Young Justice,” “Big City Greens,” and “Transformers: EarthSpark.” Interestingly, Robinson has also honed his skills in on-camera work as he mentioned himself.

Both actors have delivered exceptional performances in the live-action “Spider-Man: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman” (available on Disney+), portraying unique renditions of the Osborn family. They’ve managed to embody the core qualities of their characters brilliantly. I’d be thrilled if they were to reprise these roles in a future non-animated “Spider-Man” project, particularly in Tom Holland’s fourth Spiderman movie. I imagine Zeno Robinson’s Harry Osborn and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker sharing some scenes together.

As a diehard fan, I must admit that the prospects of a fresh Harry and Norman duo appearing in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) appear thin, given how 2021’s No Way Home effectively wrapped up Peter Parker’s storyline with the infamous villain, brilliantly portrayed by Willem Dafoe. Yet, if a multiverse version of Osborn, played by Colman Domingo, were to emerge in a live-action production alongside his animated series co-star, I wouldn’t hesitate to express my excitement!

By the way, don’t forget to check out the latest installments of “Your Amiable Next-Door” Spider-Man each Wednesday on Disney+. Additionally, keep yourself informed about the forthcoming Marvel series as well.
