‘It Was Not On My Bingo Card For This Year.’ Kim Kardashian’s Heart-To-Heart With Mom Kris Proves The Momager Moniker Has Officially Been Passed

From the very beginning, it was clear that North West was headed for stardom. Her parents being Kim Kardashian and Kanye West certainly gave her a boost, but even as a toddler, North was already grabbing attention by scolding the paparazzi. Soon after, she became a viral sensation for mocking her mother’s fake influencer tone. With the newest season of The Kardashians airing on the 2025 TV schedule, it appears that the role of “momager” has now been handed down.

It’s no wonder that at 11, North West is seeking her niche in the limelight. Similarly, it comes as no surprise that Kim Kardashian has stepped into the role of manager for North’s ventures. In an open discussion on The Kardashians, Kim shared with her mother-manager, Kris Jenner, the challenges she faces in fitting North’s opportunities into her already jam-packed schedule.

It’s surprising how much more demanding things have become lately, as I find myself taking on the role of a manager for her. This wasn’t something I had planned or anticipated, and it certainly isn’t listed among my expectations for this year. Frankly, I feel unprepared for this new responsibility. If she has a photoshoot, I need to be there the entire day, which means I have to prioritize her needs over my own, making it a choice between her and me.

It’s undeniable that Kris Jenner played a significant role in helping Kim Kardashian achieve the level of success and wealth she now enjoys. However, it’s important to note that while Kris provided a strong foundation, Kim is continuously pushing her own boundaries as she ventures into new territories, such as her SKIMS business worth $4 billion, acting, advocating for prison reform, and raising her four kids. It seems like Kim is managing these endeavors largely independently, even though there may be some involvement from Kanye West, but not to the extent of help with child-rearing.

In an episode of “The Kardashians” (which can be streamed with a Hulu subscription), Kim Kardashian expressed her desire to ensure her 11-year-old daughter maintains some time for carefree childhood experiences, as opposed to diving into the relentless work lifestyle that the actress portrayed in “American Horror Stories: Delicate” has established. In simpler terms, Kim wants to preserve a bit of her child’s youth before she gets swept up in the constant grind that her career demands.

I’m finding it difficult to decide on my daughter’s career path, so we plan to discuss this topic shortly. I simply want to ensure a harmonious blend where her professional and personal experiences are evenly distributed. In other words, I aspire for her work life to be complemented by an equal amount of enjoyable life experiences. Balance is the key.

Fans on social media have a lot of opinions about North West getting opportunities at her age, as they commented on Kris Jenner’s Instagram post of the above conversation:

  • She’s 11 why does she need a career??? – shaunaclaire
  • I can’t even take this seriously. What world do yall live in? I’m a big fan but this is so out of touch with reality. This is not even a real problem. Children don’t have careers – angela.mike
  • Your daughter should be concerned about school not a career – lgcoco92
  • How about her education first and foremost – nicnic37
  • Career?? Stop it! – valleyofthegalls

I get the feedback, but I also believe it’s beneficial that Kim Kardashian is expressing awareness about striking a balance in North West’s life. Moreover, if it boils down to prioritizing her own engagements over North’s, I don’t foresee an issue with North being overscheduled, given the context. Kim still has plenty of ground to cover before she steps back and allows herself 10% of the spotlight.

Let’s simply observe and find out what happens next, since the latest installments of “The Kardashians” are released on Hulu every Thursday.
