The streaming platform, Roku Channel, has acquired the rights to broadcast the comedic series “Bria Mack Gets a Life” in North America, the United Kingdom, and Mexico.
The agreement for the six-episode series centers around the story of Bria McFarlane, portrayed by Malaika Hennie-Hamadi, who is a 25-year-old black woman navigating adulthood in a primarily white environment. Her journey is made both challenging and bearable with the help of Black Attack (played by Hannan Younis), a supportive figure who functions as Bria’s invisible cheerleader.

The show titled “Bria Mack Gets a Life” is brought to you by New Metric Media, known for creating Hulu’s “Letterkenny “, “Shoresy“, and Crave streaming TV service. This series was developed by Sasha Leigh-Henry, who was recognized by The Hollywood Reporter as an emerging Canadian talent within the Women in Entertainment Canada initiative.
The main cast of this series features Leslie Adlam, Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz, Amalia Williamson, Marlee Sansom, Preeti Torul, Robert Bazzocchi, Nia Cummins, Robert Clarke, Shannon Jardine, Catherine De Sève, and Mark Forward.
The film titled “Bria Mack Gets a Life” is helmed by directors Leigh-Henry and Kelly Fyffe-Marshall. It is overseen by executive producers Leigh-Henry, Mark Montefiore, and Tania Thompson, with Angelique Knights and Tamar Bird serving as the film’s producers.
Roku earlier acquired another Crave comedy, Children Ruin Everything, from New Metric Media.
