The superhero genre remains hugely in demand, as fresh productions keep emerging on both TV and movie screens. For Amazon Prime subscribers, the “Invincible” series is currently streaming. I must admit, I’ve found Season 3 quite engaging, but there’s one issue from Season 2 that hasn’t been addressed just yet – let me explain why.
The third season of “Invincible” kicked off with a boom, as Steven Yeun’s protagonist exhibited greater power and entered into a significant clash with Cecil. Meanwhile, J.K. Simmons reprised his role as Omni-Man, although his screen time was limited during the initial episodes. Considering how much I longed for more of the series’ primary villain/antihero in Season 2 and the exceptional acting performance by Simmons in this role, I crave a greater presence from the main antagonist in the show.
It seems that by just a few episodes into Season 3, Omni-Man might appear more frequently throughout the season. Fingers crossed that this isn’t the case, as I’m eager for him to clash with Mark, Debbie, and Oliver. Omni-Man is such an intriguing character, and I can’t wait to listen to Simmons’ soothing voice more!
Season 3 has already delivered significant rewards, like Mark and Eve finally reuniting after a long period. With Omni-Man confessing his yearning for his spouse, I suspect the domestic conflicts will become the focal point. I can’t wait for it to lead to lengthy scenes featuring Simmons’ strong character, as Season 2 mainly focused on Thraxa and left Nolan in the background. However, the episode about Thraxa was impressive, but it stood out because it was the only one that brought Nolan back into the spotlight.
In Episode 1, Omni-Man instantly grabbed viewers’ attention as he mercilessly killed the Guardians of the Globe. Throughout Season 1, we pondered his intentions, until he eventually disclosed the true purpose of the Viltrumites and viciously attacked his own son in a global clash. Afterward, he left Earth, making brief appearances in the ensuing season and a half.
Despite all that’s been discussed, I’m overjoyed that the series has returned for a third season! The second season of Invincible, being divided into two parts, definitely slowed down the tempo, particularly during the break between seasons. As previously noted, I’m quite enjoying the progression of Season 3 and yearn for more screen time for a beloved character, accompanied by the talented voice actor who brings them to life. The voice cast of Invincible is truly impressive, featuring stars like Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, Gillian Jacobs, Walter Goggins, among others. Fresh episodes are available every Thursday on Amazon Prime, as part of their 2025 TV debut lineup. Here’s hoping we see more of Omni-Man soon!
