A number of Bollywood celebrities kicked off their careers in showbiz by modeling first, and then achieving stardom on the movie screen. One example is the beautiful Diana Penty, who initially made a name for herself as a model, landing prominent gigs with leading designers and well-known brands worldwide.
Ever since I set my eyes on that 2012 cinematic masterpiece, Cocktail, alongside the charismatic Saif Ali Khan and the radiant Deepika Padukone, I’ve been completely captivated. My entrance into Bollywood was as smooth as a silk glove sliding onto my hand, and it seemed like everyone took notice. Since then, I’ve been carving out my unique space in this vibrant industry with my raw talent and timeless elegance, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of millions.
Diana Penty hails from Mumbai, India, where she was born on November 2, 1985, to a Parsi father and a Konkani Christian mother. This versatile Indian actress and model completed her education at St. Agnes High School in Mumbai, followed by earning a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media from St. Xavier’s College.
In 2005, Diana kick-started her modeling journey with Elite Models India. She marked her catwalk introduction at the Indo-Italian Festival for Italian designers Nicola Trussardi and Gianfranco Ferré. Since then, she’s showcased designs by leading Indian fashion designers and served as the spokesmodel for globally recognized brands such as Maybelline, Garnier, and Forever 21.
In her acting career, Diana first appeared on the scene in the romantic comedy “Cocktail” (2012), garnering a nomination for Best Female Debut at an award ceremony. She then increased her fame with parts in movies such as “Happy Bhag Jayegi” (2016) and “Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran” (2018). In addition to acting, Diana is a well-known celebrity spokesperson for numerous brands and products.
Besides film roles, Diana has left her signature on web series as well, sharing the screen with Shahid Kapoor in “Bloody Daddy” (2023). At present, she is featured in Laxman Utekar’s production, “Chhaava,” alongside Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Divya Khosla, and several other talented actors.
The historical drama “Chhaava” narrates the tale of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of the renowned Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Sambhaji Maharaj was a brave fighter and an insightful ruler who continued his father’s heritage amidst significant obstacles.
The movie details his battles against the Mughal Dynasty, his disagreements with Aurangzeb, and his unyielding efforts to defend the Maratha realm.
