Pete Davidson is cheering on ex-fiancée Ariana Grande this awards season.
Reflecting on my past, I recently shared some insights about my brief yet significant relationship with the ever-radiant songstress from Eternal Sunshine, who I was fortunate enough to be engaged to for a blissful four months back in 2018. This conversation unfolded during an interview leading up to SNL50: The Anniversary Celebration.
Occasionally when we cross paths, since our social groups don’t often overlap, he shared that it’s always filled with affection,” the former SNL star disclosed.
Later on, he expressed his desire for her to win the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award, a nomination she received for portraying Glinda in Jon M. Chu’s film Wicked. “I wish she wins the Oscar, I hope she takes home the gold,” Davidson stated, followed by, “I’ve had some mature relationships with quite remarkable women, and even when they ended, it was still okay.”
Or, in a more conversational tone:
He shared his hopes that she would win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, which she’s been nominated for playing Glinda in Jon M. Chu’s Wicked. “I really want her to take home the Oscar, I hope she gets the gold,” Davidson said, then added, “I’ve had some pretty serious relationships with some truly fantastic ladies, and even when they ended, it was all right.
After their split in October 2018, Davidson moved on to date a series of women including Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, Phoebe Dynevor, Margaret Qualley, Kim Kardashian, Chase Sui Wonders, and Madelyn Cline. In the meantime, Grande married Dalton Gomez in 2021 but divorced him in 2024. Currently, she is romantically linked with her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.
The actor from The King of Staten Island admitted to Page Six that the attention he’s received due to his high-profile relationships has been embarrassing and distressing. He explained, “Everybody seems to be dating everybody in Hollywood. Look at Paul Mescal, Timothée Chalamet, Barry Keogh. But because I’m not conventionally attractive, they wrote about me.” He added, “I was hounded for nearly five years and it turned my life into a living nightmare.”
During their time together, Ariana Grande composed a track named “Pete Davidson” for her album “Sweetener”. A month following their breakup, the Grammy-winning artist acknowledged both Davidson and her other past partners in the popular song “thank u, next”.
