On a Saturday, Kartik Aaryan thrilled his supporters by revealing his eagerly-anticipated romantic drama movie, which will star Sreeleela and be helmed by Anurag Basu. The film is set to premiere towards the end of this year during Diwali. Interestingly, fans will have a tough time deciding which movie to watch as Ayushmann Khurrana’s much-awaited film Thama featuring Rashmika Mandanna has also chosen Diwali for its grand debut.
On Saturday, the 15th of February, Kartik Aaryan unveiled his upcoming project with Sreeleela, creating quite a stir online. The initial glimpse of this musical revealed Kartik in a grungy style, sporting a beard and disheveled long hair, portraying a heartbroken lover. Notably, he is also shown strumming a guitar and serenading the audience with “Tu Meri Zindagi Hai,” showcasing his singing talents to a massive crowd.
Beyond his powerful portrayal, we also notice his passionate chemistry with Sreeleela during steamy romantic scenes. The sneak peek also shows Anurag Basu collaborating with Pritam to create a moving soundtrack for the upcoming movie. The post’s caption hinted that the film will premiere this year on Diwali 2025.

Another major release this year is the film “Thama,” starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Khurrana. This movie is part of Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock horror universe, which was announced last October with the caption, “Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe needed a love story… unfortunately, it’s a bloody one. Get ready for #Thama – Diwali 2025!” In simpler terms, this means that we can expect a horror comedy romance from Dinesh Vijan’s universe, but with a dark twist – it’ll be released on the festival of Diwali in 2025.
Under the guidance of director Aditya Sarpotdar, known for his work on Munjya, this upcoming film boasts an impressive ensemble of actors: Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The screenplay is a collaborative effort by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara, while Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik serve as producers. Excitingly, Thama is set to hit theaters on the festive occasion of Diwali in 2025.
