Below, there are significant plot revelations for the final episode of ‘Cobra Kai’. To avoid any spoilers, make sure you’ve watched it if you haven’t already. You can do so by subscribing to Netflix and streaming the finale immediately.
I’ve been eagerly anticipating the return of “Cobra Kai” for what seems like ages now. And at last, it’s back on Netflix! We’ve finally reached the much-awaited finale, and let me tell you, it was quite a climax—particularly for the two main adversaries, John Kreese and Terry Silver. But why did things unfold this way? The creators of the series have provided an insightful explanation that makes perfect sense.
Before the event concluded, I managed to chat with Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg regarding the explosive finale for Kreese and Silver. This refers to their dramatic demise, as Kreese ignited a dangerous combination of his lighter and alcohol on a yacht, resulting in both characters’ deaths. It has frequently crossed my mind if their tumultuous relationship was always intended to culminate in such a violent fashion – an ultimate act of destruction. All three individuals confirmed this, stating that Silver’s fate became inevitable once Kreese was arrested, effectively sealing his destiny.
Once Terry Silver managed to get John Kreese behind bars, it was clear that revenge was brewing. While we caught a glimpse of it during the Sekai Taikai in part two, fans were eagerly anticipating the climactic showdown between these characters. Always aiming to outdo ourselves, we decided to stage a grand sword fight between Terry Silver and Chozen at the end of season five. To make this final confrontation truly epic, it seemed fitting to have it take place on Terry Silver’s yacht out on the open sea, culminating in a massive explosion.
As a film enthusiast, I’ve always found the bond between Silver and Kreese intriguing, if not outright tense. It wasn’t until we delved into their past in ‘Cobra Kai’ that I understood how they became unlikely allies – it was their shared experiences during the Vietnam War that forged this connection. But let me tell you, their meeting was far from pleasant, and their relationship only grew more violent as time went on.
At the culmination of “Cobra Kai”, Kreese – once a formidable TV antagonist – underwent a transformation. Though he grappled with his inner turmoil, Kreese remained true to his nature, striving relentlessly to elevate Cobra Kai. However, an emotional exchange with Johnny in Episode 13 led to him relinquishing his authority and taking decisive action against Silver. As the narrative unfolded in subsequent episodes, Kreese emerged as a multi-dimensional character, starkly contrasting the one we remembered from the original “Karate Kid” movies.
Cobra Kai truly stands out as one of the most compelling series to marathon on Netflix over its six-season span. I never imagined I’d wind up rooting for Kreese, but such is life, and the brutal fashion in which the show concluded both characters, Kreese and Silver, was fittingly intense. Without a doubt, it was an exhilarating ride – reminiscent of the original Cobra Kai style. In the end, Kreese’s “No mercy” mantra rang true.
Although we won’t see any more intense Cobra Kai battles or detonations, it’s comforting to know that there’s tranquility in the Karate Kid universe. Kreese discovered his own path before dealing with Terry, and so did Johnny. With this knowledge, I can bid farewell to the series with a content smile – and a newfound desire to learn karate. However, let’s hope it won’t be under someone like Silver.
