Following a brief absence following a disappointing ninth season and some cast breakups, Bachelor in Paradise plans to reappear on the 2025 TV schedule with a new showrunner and a fresh batch of singles from Bachelor Nation searching for love (or social media fame). It’s common to find contestants who are still healing from recent heartbreaks gracing the beach, and sometimes they may even cross paths with their former partners. Apparently, Wells Adams is hoping for such an encounter between Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell, but I don’t share that perspective on this subject.
Wells Adams Suggests Paradise For Matt James And Rachael Kirkconnell
Matt James’ public statement on social media about his breakup with Rachael Kirkconnell following four years together left Bachelor Nation stunned and bewildered. Even Kirkconnell’s subsequent interview on Call Her Daddy didn’t lessen the impact. Former Bachelorette contestant and BIP bartender, Wells Adams, shared he was equally taken aback, but suggested to Parade that perhaps this separation could present them with a new chance, expressing: “Maybe it offers them an opportunity.
They had been a couple for quite some time, and typically, relationships from Bachelor Nation don’t last beyond a year or two. However, this one had been going strong for four years, which took me by surprise. I honestly believed they would tie the knot and start a family, but that was just an assumption on my part. It’s unfortunate, but it leaves open the possibility that they might both appear in Paradise this coming summer.
Frankly, I can’t help but wonder if Wells Adams was merely playing around when he suggested Rachael Kirkconnell or Matt James appearing on “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 10. While the idea is intriguing, it seems incredibly unlikely that either of them would even consider such an opportunity. In my humble opinion, they’ve both achieved so much and grown significantly since their respective seasons that it wouldn’t be beneficial or appropriate for them to return to this format.
Matt James And/Or Rachael Kirkconnell On Bachelor In Paradise Is A Bad Idea
One significant factor that suggests this ex-couple may never join Bachelor in Paradise is their decision to distanciate themselves from the franchise after the racism controversy during Matt James’ season. Notably, they avoided attending finale events or hosting group dates, which are common practices among former contestants. They found solace in each other and moved forward independently.
Given that this situation is extremely unlikely, I don’t believe either Rachel Kirkconnell or the other individual should rejoin the franchise, as it might not be beneficial for their personal health. The controversy surrounding Rachel stemmed from past racist actions, such as attending an antebellum-themed fraternity party in 2018, and I suspect she would prefer to avoid revisiting the public scrutiny she faced in 2021.
Regarding Matt James, while Rachael Kirkconnell maintains that their split wasn’t due to infidelity, critics have pointed out his handling of the breakup, which left many fans questioning his actions. Specifically, they claim he posted an Instagram photo just as Kirkconnell was boarding a long international flight, knowing she wouldn’t be able to respond for 12 hours.
The fanbase associated with Bachelor Nation has unfortunately gained a reputation for becoming quite hostile, even going so far as to send unwarranted threats to the reality stars. Given all that Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell have experienced within the franchise, I believe their past involvement makes a return too fraught with tension for either of them to be warmly welcomed back. In light of this, I hope they choose to disregard Wells Adams’ speculations and steer clear of Bachelor in Paradise.
