In the heart of Chapter 4 of Ninja Gaiden 2: Black, I found myself knee-deep in a whirlwind of chaos. As Ryu Hayabusa, I was thrust into an underworld labyrinth where relentless foes emerged from every conceivable direction, testing my ninja skills to the limit.
In this chapter, you’ll encounter a variety of challenges ranging from navigating ominous, monster-infested passages to grueling boss fights designed to push your battle prowess to its limits.
As an avid reader, I’ll be diving deep into Chapter 4, offering you valuable insights on how to master its chaos. Rest assured, these tips will equip you with the skills needed to triumph in every ensuing conflict!
How To Complete Chapter 4
The chapter picks up right after Ryu’s fight against Death Megalo Flyer in Chapter 3.
Initially, he finds himself in a completely dark subway tunnel, far beneath the ground. Not long after getting comfortable, enemies appear from nowhere and start firing balls of flame at you.
In this situation, the Fiend’s Bane Bow offers the most effective means to swiftly eliminate them before they can amass too many and overwhelm you.
After moving past those spots, make your way to the right-hand side of the tunnel to locate the initial Muramasa Statue Shop.
If you have enough essence, consider upgrading your weapons immediately.
The more you push through the tunnel, the more flying fiends appear.
Stay sharp before heading to the end, or the Black Spider Ninjas will catch you off guard.
Keeping mobile is crucial as these adversaries are swift and persistent; it’s advisable to dodge their assaults rather than engaging them directly.
Following my victory against those trains, I stumbled upon a pile of mangled carriages obstructing my path. I hopped over and dropped down a hidden opening to uncover the secrets of the next gaming level.
As soon as you enter the lower region, another surprise attack occurs. More ninjas will flood the area, making the battle intensely challenging for you.
Or:
Upon reaching the lower part of the area, a sudden ambush takes place. More ninjas join in, escalating the fight to an intense level for you.
Unleash your top moves and keep an eye out for their powerful assaults. Additionally, you’ll discover a treasure here containing The Mastery of Wind Blades, a potent Ninpo technique ideal for swiftly eliminating clusters of opponents.

Before proceeding further, deal with the group ahead, then eliminate more foes as you pass the chest, and finally make your way towards the distant red light.
Before moving forward, spare a moment to check what lies hidden among the debris – there’s a treasure trove with Red Ki Orbs, which can replenish your Ki for your Ninpo techniques.
When prepared, make your way to the red signal, serving as your entry point into a bustling subway station where you’ll encounter more formidable adversaries of greater size.
Once you’ve handled the troublemakers, go to the left and climb the stairs to reach Safety Checkpoint 1. Make sure to save your game here before moving on.
Inside the train station lies a room full of adversaries. Prepare yourself, as you’ll encounter multiple waves of skilled ninjas, making for a challenging battle ahead.
Or simply:
The train station hides a room packed with foes. Brace yourself, as you’re about to engage in a series of tough fights against numerous ninjas.
After emptying the space, inspect it thoroughly as there are two chests hidden. One chest carries an Herb of Spiritual Life, while the other encloses a Red Ki Orb.
Once you’ve swept through and emptied the area, make sure to search for two hidden treasure chests. One chest has the Herb of Spiritual Life, and the other stores a Red Ki Orb.
Lastly, consider this option:
After moving everything out of the way, don’t forget to look around carefully for two secret chests. One contains the Herb of Spiritual Life, and the other houses a Red Ki Orb.
Proceed with caution, since passing through there may lead to an unexpected attack by hidden ninjas.
After wrapping up here, I’ll find myself treading the bustling streets of New York City. The moment I step outside, I’ll be swarmed by packs of Blade Dogs.

These quick enemies can be tough, so stay on the move and strike them before they close in.
Once you feel secure, take a moment to observe your surroundings. A concealed walkway near the balcony leads directly into a narrow lane that harbors additional ninjas.
Knock them out and keep heading through the alley until you find Save Point 2 beside a ladder.
Look up at the ledge above the alley before you move ahead.
Make your way to where Crystal Skull 1 is located. You can pick it up by jumping off walls at the corner. Remember to snag it before moving on to Checkpoint 2.
the location of Crystal Skull 1, the action required to collect it (wall-running), and the importance of collecting it before moving on to Save Point 2.
After saving, climb the ladder next to you. As you’re about to reach the top, perform a backflip off the ladder onto a concealed trail that lies behind you.
This will take you to a chest filled with Yellow Essence, a valuable resource.
After obtaining it, I’ll scale the ranks and prepare myself for the upcoming battle. Ahead on my path, I’ll come across a corpse on the road bearing a Jewel of the Demonic Seal.
Continue advancing, but be cautious as a new group of large, menacing foes – some even airborne – approach. Remember to stay alert about the fence on your right side.
When you hit a broken section, jump across to grab Crystal Skull.
Make sure you look at the other end of the road for a Grains of Spiritual Life box before climbing the ladder, so you don’t miss it.
Now, descend to the lower floor. Doing so will unlock the Muramasa Store and reward you with a Life of the Gods treasure chest.
Now that you have these, you’re ready for the next section.
Approaching the Brooklyn Bridge, a scene unfolds, pitting you against Godamus – an enormous, powerfully built adversary known for his incredible strength.
As a gamer, I love unleashing some powerful blows, such as the Fist Slam – a move where I lift my arm high and slam it hard onto the ground. If enemies get too close, I’ve also got the Palm Slam at the ready – that’s when I bring both hands crashing down for maximum impact.
Additionally, he executes an Arm Sweep, a broad-reaching maneuver that can catch you off guard. To dodge it, consider leaping to safety instead.
His Sonic Wave skill generates a powerful shockwave, pushing Ryu back, and his Rock Projection technique consists of hurling colossal rocks; if these are defended against, they could shatter one’s defense mechanism.
A good strategy when facing Godamus is to keep moving and look for opportunities following his powerful lunges.
Don’t linger for too much time; his close-combat attacks are incredibly powerful, particularly when the difficulty level is increased.
As a gamer, when I need to turn things around, I rely on my Ninpo abilities. If I’ve got those Devil’s Way Mushrooms handy, I quickly restore my Ki and unleash some powerful spells to take control of the game.
With powerful weapon combinations, like those using Enma’s Fang, you can knock him off his feet, opening up opportunities for multiple subsequent attacks.
It’s tempting to go all in, but dodge first, then counterattack when he’s open.
Once you’ve weakened him and delivered the decisive strike, Sonia arrives by helicopter to transport Ryu to Liberty Island for the continuation of Chapter 4.

Giant foes are ready to pounce on your front yard the moment you touch down. Take these adversaries seriously since evasive maneuvers and swift counterattacks will be crucial for survival.
Once you have cleared them out, enter the museum. Inside a glass case, you will find Save Point 4.
Break the glass to grab it, then lock in your progress before moving on.
Inside the museum, you will find Enma’s Fang – a colossal greatsword renowned as one of the game’s most powerful weapons.
or
The museum houses Enma’s Fang, an enormous greatsword known for being one of the game’s strongest weapons.
or
In the museum, you can see Enma’s Fang, a huge greatsword that is one of the game’s mightiest weapons.
All these options convey the same information in a natural and easy-to-read manner.
Right nearby, you’ll come across a Devil’s Way Mushroom nestled on an inert form – it’s perfect for replenishing your energy reserves just before your upcoming battle. You surely won’t overlook it, as it stands out prominently in the display case.
As you progress, you’ll encounter a horde of ninjas and more formidable enemies up ahead. Moving swiftly and employing tactics to manage crowds will help preserve both your health and available resources.
1) Check over the area thoroughly before making your way to the elevator platform. The Crystal Skull 3 is located beneath the catwalk, and you’ll have to time your leap perfectly to grab it.
After gathering everything essential, ascend through the elevator to continue your ascent. The higher levels house increasingly formidable foes such as archers and additional ninjas.
Relax and prioritize your well-being, alright? You’ll eventually arrive at Muramasa Store, offering a final opportunity to enhance your gear or gather supplies before confronting the ultimate challenge.

In Chapter 4’s climactic battle, you’ll face off against the swift and powerful Alexei, a formidable Fiend with potent electric abilities.
Unlike the last boss, Alexei isn’t as forgiving regarding mistakes.
He uses swift, whizzing energy spheres that chase after Ryu, so it’s essential to move quickly to sidestep them.
Additionally, he possesses a spiraling vortex, an impactful area attack capable of pushing Ryu away if hit by it.
Alexei has the ability to emit an electrical jolt, which generates a wave of retribution against any players who get too near.
To defeat Alexei, it’s important to maintain your patience and adopt a defensive strategy. Since his melee attacks seem to be widespread, focusing on blocking is a wise choice for safety.
On the contrary, moving towards him rather than away from him is usually more advantageous. It helps avoid being cornered near the arena’s boundaries.
In this battle, Enma’s Fang proves to be a superb choice, with its powerful blows able to knock him off balance and open up chances for additional attacks.
If you time those counters right, you can destroy his health and keep Ryu safe.
Ninpo can throw out some damage when things get rough and give you a quick invincibility breather.
Employ your Talisman of Renewal at this moment, since a new one will be discovered in the upcoming section. Overcoming Alexei signifies the conclusion of Chapter 4.
By now, you should have a lot of essence, upgraded weapons, and extra resources for Chapter 5.
