The place teems with mysteries, from buried treasures to concealed spots that can be uncovered solely by adventurers. Among these secrets lies one called the Totem of Enlightenment, and if you manage to gather all its fragments, it will bestow upon you some remarkable advantages.
In Avowed, there are only two guarantees: you’ll spend numerous hours delving into the Living Lands, and you’ll encounter quite a few challenging combat scenarios. Fortunately, these experiences will be compensated with the Totem of Revelations. Gather all of them, and they’ll provide essential bonuses to your character that will prove beneficial in the endgame, irrespective of your chosen class.
Regardless if you’re a Ranger, Mage, Warrior, or a blend of them all, you’d be keen to discover where the fragments of the Totem of Revelations are situated.
All Totem of Revelations pieces and locations
In total, there are seven distinct components for the Totem of Revelations, and they’re scattered across various locations. Luckily, if you want to solve it without knowing all the answers upfront, you can purchase a hint-filled note that includes the names of each piece. You can obtain this useful tip at the Dead Swordfish bar in Thirdborn.
After obtaining it, we advise that you activate the “God Shrine Totem Pieces” setting within your user interface settings. By doing so, all fragmented totems on your map will be highlighted, significantly enhancing your ability to locate them quickly.
With that, you’ll be searching for the following pieces:
- Totem Base: Eyes of the Obscured
- Ruby Eye
- Amethyst Eye
- Topaz Eye
- Sapphire Eye
- Agate Eye
- Emerald Eye
Totem Base: Eyes of the Obscured
Clue: The Hundred Visions’ totem lies in a seaside cavern overrun with eyes.
The Eyes of the Concealed Totem Base can be discovered at Shatterscarp, specifically within the Sanctum dedicated to Wael. This sanctuary lies due west from Thirdborn, right along the water’s edge. Make your way there and search for a cave entrance. After that, just follow the trail until you encounter a sizable opening.
The Eyes of the Hidden Totem Base are in Shatterscarp, inside a place called the Shrine to Wael. This shrine is located west of Thirdborn, right by the water. Go there and look for a cave. Then, follow the path until you find a big opening.

The Totem Base is on the ledge above you and is pretty hard to miss.
Ruby Eye
Clue: On the ancient lakebed’s edge, to the ruby eye your words you will pledge.
Inside the Shrine of Wael, exit via the entrance you discovered earlier, then veer to your left. You’ll find yourself gliding through a cavern adorned with numerous eyes. After traversing this space, you’ll encounter a steep incline that you must ascend. Upon reaching the top, you will come across a woman who goes by the title of the Ward of the Eye.
Engage in a conversation with her, address her queries (promises you make), and over time, she’ll reward you with the Ruby Eye.
Amethyst Eye
Clue: Near a flame-scarred town lost to history, the amethyst eye dwells in a cave of mystery.
The Amethyst Eye can be discovered in the eastern region of the Ancient Lakebed, specifically near its northern edge, close by the Shrine. To reach Wael from the Shrine, follow a northeasterly route until you encounter an abandoned structure (not the Infected Homestead). Across from this building lies a cave. Explore it and you might come across a Mourning Thirdbornian.
You don’t have to talk to her if you don’t wish to initiate a new quest; instead, you can just grab the Amethyst Eye and carry on with your journey.
Topaz Eye
Clue: Beneath a watery behemoth’s ancient bones, the topaz eye awaits all alone.
After discovering the Amethyst Eye, make your way to Leviathan’s Cave, situated west of the Deadfall Heights. Inside this area, you’ll find a Leviathan’s skull as a landmark. Once you spot it, venture inside, then submerge into the water and swim through the underwater tunnel or cave.
Upon your arrival, you’ll spot some old ruins. To your left, there’s a path leading upwards that takes you to the second level. Once you reach this floor, locate the small cave-like opening and proceed through it. You’ll find a deceased individual there. The table behind him holds the Topaz Eye.
Sapphire Eye
Clue: At the bottom of an oasis deep, the sapphire eye is yours to keep.
Afterward, make your way to the eastern part of Shatterscarp, more precisely towards the southeastern region known as the Sand Sea Oasis. It would be beneficial if you can teleport there (assuming you have the beacon). Once you’re there, take a plunge into the central pool and swim straight down.
Down beneath the ocean’s surface, I stumbled upon a watery grave with a glowing Sapphire Eye adorning the lid. Not only could I plunder the unique Trickster’s Gloves from the decaying corpse, but they would grant me a 1% boost in Critical Hit Chance and a 25% increase in Critical Damage too!
Agate Eye
Clue: Amidst sprawling ruins of the faithless of old, the agate eye has waited for years untold.
As an avid adventurer, I’ve discovered that the elusive Agate Eye can be found within the Sand Sea Ruins, more precisely, in their labyrinthine dungeons. To reach this hidden treasure, make your way to the Shark’s Mouth Beacon and then head south-east. Once you arrive at your destination, you’ll come across a striking, round structure that resembles the second image provided – it’s quite the sight!
To reach the second floor, you should walk around to the other side and ascend. Upon arrival, proceed through the space, and you’ll spot the Agate Eye sitting on a table near a chest.
Emerald Eye
Clue: The emerald eye rests on an unfinished likeness, not far from unnatural iciness.
Finally, you’ll come across the Emerald Eye at Shark’s Teeth. Instead, consider teleporting to the Shark’s Teeth Party Camp and moving towards its southeastern direction. Close by from the camp is a structure with scaffolding around it. Ascend this structure to reach the top, and you’ll find the Emerald Eye there, along with a small lockbox.
The Emerald Eye is found in Sharks’ Teath, just southeast of the Shark’s Teeth party Camp.
How to make the Totem of Revelations
After gathering all my collected items, I’d make my way back to our campsite and stride towards the area where the totems stand. Once there, I’d carefully arrange my gathered pieces on the stone monument, then engage with it to see what happens next!
Performing this action transports you into a special scene, where you interact with a voice that rewards you with multiple perks later on. These benefits remain effective until you manually turn them off by choosing the symbol (totem) and clicking ‘Deactivate’.
All buffs
The Totem of Revelations will grant you the following buffs:
- Fickle Winds: Critical Hits deal high random accumulation
- Disappearing Trick: Second Wind casts Shadowing Beyond
- Magic in the Blood: Restoring Essence also restores a small amount of Health
- Sight Beyond Eyes: +5% Critical Hit Chance
- Enigmatic Shield: Activating a Level 15 or Level 20 ability grants 5% Damage Reduction for 10 seconds.
- The Obscured’s Vantage: +2 Intellect, +2 Perception
This item seems perfect for any class in Avowed, dealing substantial damage throughout the game. I’d advise keeping it activated as long as possible.
In Avowed, here are all the spots for the Totem of Revelations. As you traverse Shatterscarp, don’t forget to investigate some of the game’s hidden treasure chests, such as Dead Man’s Mail, and consider which outstanding companions would be most beneficial to accompany you on your adventure.
