The third season of The White Lotus opened to the show’s largest premiere audience so far.
On its debut Sunday, the HBO series attracted 2.4 million viewers across various platforms, marking a 57% jump compared to the viewership of the season two premiere (1.5 million). This total includes both the initial broadcast and re-runs on HBO, as well as streaming on Max.
Following a 36-hour period, encompassing Presidents Day, HBO reports that the viewership for the series premiere swelled to 4.6 million viewers, nearly doubling the number of viewers who tuned in for season two’s debut over an equivalent timeframe. In Europe and Latin America, the viewership more than tripled compared to the season two premiere, according to HBO (although they did not disclose any data regarding the global audience).
The third season of Mike White’s satire, set in Thailand, focuses on a new cast of privileged resort guests, staff members, and introduces a murder mystery when an unknown corpse is discovered in the initial episode, which doesn’t require any spoiler alerts at this stage.
For the past two seasons of “The White Lotus” on HBO, viewership numbers have consistently surpassed those seen on their premiere nights. The platform measures show performance across various platforms for a period of 90 days from the premiere date. Specifically, season two attracted an average of 15.5 million viewers, while season one (which initially drew 944,000 first-night viewers) averaged 9.3 million viewers over its run.
