App Army Assemble: DinoBlits – “Is this dino strategy game rawrsome or should it be left to go extinct?”

Is it true that everyone has a soft spot for dinosaurs? Ever since Jurassic Park, and arguably even before, we’ve all harbored this fascination with these colossal beasts roaming the planet, regardless of the potential dangers they might pose to us. The latest game, DinoBlits, gives you a chance to witness these creatures flourish on Earth, but only if your strategic skills are sharp enough. We gave our App Army a go at this game to see if it’s worth the investment.

For two hours straight, I immersed myself in this captivating game. It’s hard to resist! The charming, retro Dino design and uncomplicated game mechanics make it a game I can wholeheartedly endorse. Though it’s a gradual build-up game (luckily, the speed can be increased), you’ll find yourself appreciating its unique charm. This strategy game, which doesn’t overwhelm with complex mechanics, is an excellent choice for passing time on mobile devices. My only complaint is that there’s no option to expand the viewing area. Moreover, I adore the game’s music – it’s quite catchy! I must admit, I’m still puzzled about dinosaurs needing a pub…

Dinoblits is somewhat similar to an autonomous city-building game, as it operates independently without explicit instructions or guidance. The game follows three basic rules, and while this can initially prove challenging during the initial gameplay sessions, once mastered, it becomes intuitive and addictive.

My suggestion is to take things slowly and not overwhelm yourself by doing too much at once, especially since this game doesn’t require constant problem-solving like most city builder games. You may find that it has a unique approach within the genre, but if you give it some time and effort, you could grow to appreciate its differences. This game might not be suitable for everyone due to its unconventional style in the city builder genre.

DinoBlits is an engaging game that offers a compact city-building experience, featuring charming pixel art and music. However, I found myself somewhat bewildered while playing it due to the absence of a tutorial. This led me to meet an untimely demise on multiple occasions, despite usually enjoying learning the ropes as I go. Despite this initial confusion, I appreciate the game’s progression system and the process of constructing numerous mini-cities across each island. Dino Blits has potential, it just needs a bit more to draw players in during the early stages.

In a nutshell, DinoBlits is a blend of a leisurely strategy game and certain easy-going elements similar to Civilization, but with a prehistoric twist – it’s all about dinosaurs and toothy creatures! Once you’ve added these fearsome beasts into the mix, you’ve got DinoBlits.

The gameplay is straightforward and inviting. Start by settling on some land, decide which structures to construct, give your dinos a break to reproduce, and then watch as your dino population grows before potential threats from encroaching mammals arise.

As you advance, additional buildings and features become accessible: The part I found most challenging was allowing the dinosaurs time to forage, eat, and reproduce; it’s crucial to prevent them from starving. DinoBlits is a charming strategy game that carves its unique niche in the genre. Although it can be somewhat repetitive, it remains enjoyable for short play sessions of about half an hour.

DinoBlits is a laid-back strategy game featuring old-school pixel art. After the asteroid impact, your dinosaur tribe has managed to survive, but now they need to embark on a journey to discover new territories where they can prosper. The world is divided into squares, and each level begins by letting you pick a square for your tribe to settle. To expand, they’ll need to construct buildings such as homes and farms. There will always be an adversary base in every level, and after a specified duration, enemies are released that must be defeated to claim victory.

As a devoted gamer, I’ve been finding myself grappling with an issue in this game: The instructions aren’t as crystal-clear as I’d like them to be. Specifically, the memory game segment leaves me baffled, as it doesn’t seem to serve any discernible function. Moreover, the ability to construct walls to ensnare foes is intriguing, but both enemies and my dinosaur counterparts just seem to phase right through them. On the bright side, the graphics are visually appealing, and I find myself drawn back to it time and again, so it’s staying put on my mobile device for now.

Initially, the unique blend of Civilization, Dota Underlords, and Dwarf Fortress caught my interest immediately. The concept of customizing your dinosaur chief’s initial stats, guiding your dino tribe to explore islands, construct bases, and battle random enemies while managing their Maslow hierarchy seemed perfect. However, I soon discovered that this game is both overly simple, with the developers neglecting a proper tutorial, and excessively complex, leaving me baffled as my dinosaurs continued to die repeatedly without any understanding of what was causing it.

Regardless of my commands given, structures built, or mobs defeated, ultimately, my settlers ran out of food and without any settlers, there was no further exploration leading to the extinction of dinosaurs. Sadly, even with its adorable aspects, this game is likely to be removed from my device and forgotten forever unless it includes a thorough objective-based tutorial.

In simple terms, DinoBlits is a mix of an idle and strategy game that focuses on constructing buildings for dinosaurs to thrive. I’ve spent a couple of hours playing, and I’ve successfully navigated through several islands. Each island offers unique levels, and as you progress, you gain access to more buildings and activities. The graphics are adorable, and the music is pleasing to the ear. My main issue with the game is that it doesn’t have a comprehensive tutorial, making it necessary for players to figure out the gameplay mechanics on their own, which can be challenging at times. However, this didn’t prevent me from enjoying the game, but it does make the learning process steeper.

Experience the captivating blend of strategy, city-building, and prehistoric creatures in this game! The unique combination of dinosaurs had me intrigued and eagerly anticipating my playtime. The gameplay mechanics are a mix of the familiar (ensuring food supply, housing for population growth, healthcare, etc.) and the unexpected (dinosaurs requiring pubs, increased reproduction with available homes, and even privacy concerns). What sets it apart is not just the fluctuating morale, but specific dinosaur emotions like hunger or sadness. The adorable dinosaurs themselves are a delightful addition that keeps the game engaging. It took some time to get accustomed to this game, but I’m grateful for sticking with it. I wholeheartedly recommend it!
