‘High Potential’ Ends Season With Series-Best Ratings

A season of ratings success for ABC‘s High Potential ended with (another) high note.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the season finale of my favorite crime drama on Feb 11 reached an all-time high in total viewers! It also broke new ground in the crucial demographic for advertisers, adults aged 18-49. With a week of multi-platform viewing, the episode that introduced a possible long-term adversary for Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) attracted a whopping 13.2 million viewers, matching the record set by the show in mid-January.

In the age group of adults between 18 and 49, the finale garnered a rating of 2.59 (approximately representing 3.47 million viewers in this demographic), marking an increase of around 6% compared to the highest-rated episode of ‘High Potential’ before it.

Approximately 8.7 million viewers watched the final episode across linear TV and DVR replays within a week. This suggests that around 4.5 million viewers chose to stream the same episode on platforms like Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and various digital services. Streaming made up about 34% of the total viewership.

Typically, a significant number of viewers for network shows like ‘High Potential’ prefer to stream their episodes. Interestingly, the linear 18-49 rating for the finale was 0.76, accumulated over seven days, which represents only about 29% of its total audience when you consider all platforms.

This past season, the show titled “High Potential” garnered 11.5 million viewers across various platforms, marking the highest viewership for a first-year series on ABC since “The Good Doctor” in 2017-18. It currently holds the top spot among broadcast dramas this season when considering the ratings of streaming content, based on data provided by Nielsen.
