As a devoted film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that following the September debut of the prequel series NCIS: Origins on CBS, the NCIS franchise is set to expand further with its eagerly awaited spinoff NCIS: Tony and Ziva, slated for 2025 TV schedules. This upcoming series, exclusively available through a Paramount+ subscription, will bring back Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo in their beloved characters’ roles. Filming commenced in Budapest this summer, and now, after wrapping up, I must admit that seeing Michael Weatherly celebrating in a tub was definitely an unexpected addition to my 2025 Bingo card!
Actor Michael Weatherly, who played DiNozzo in Bull, has been sharing plenty of content from Budapest during filming – from the shooting spots to local cuisine and leisure moments spent with the crew. It’s only natural then that he marked the conclusion of filming on X day. But what was unexpected was how he chose to celebrate:
He shared an image of himself enjoying a bath, commenting that he was “appreciating how much I adore bathtubs.” Given the intense action scenes and stunts he’s likely performed over the past few months, it certainly appears to be a well-deserved and soothing way to commemorate the end of production.
It might seem peculiar that Weatherly is enjoying a luxurious bath, but there’s a good chance he attended or will attend a grand wrap party. Celebrating solo can be enjoyable too, but it’s still quite surprising to share such an unexpected photo. However, it’s an exciting way to keep fans intrigued and guessing.
There’s plenty of anticipation surrounding the fact that the production of NCIS: Tony and Ziva has come to an end. This news is particularly exciting because it signals that we won’t have to wait much longer for Paramount+ to unveil sneak peeks of the upcoming spinoff. Although a release date or trailer might still be some time away, this announcement brings a sense of relief and excitement. Additionally, considering Michael Weatherly’s penchant for engaging fans, it’s likely that he will continue to share behind-the-scenes photos from filming abroad, keeping us all in the loop!
In February 2024, Paramount+ officially announced a spinoff focusing on Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David, which had everyone just as excited as ever. Some might quibble with the title “NCIS: Tony and Ziva“, considering other characters are involved too. However, the very fact that it’s being made overshadows any minor reservations. Furthermore, Michael Weatherly’s own enthusiasm and humor about his return to the NCIS universe has me eager for him and de Pablo to rejoin the cast.
The anticipation for the Tony and Ziva spinoff is steadily growing each day, and now that filming has wrapped up, it feels like a tangible reality. We can only hope to learn more about its premiere date soon, but in the meantime, fans will simply have to be patient. It will definitely be worth it when Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo grace our screens together once again.
