Oprah Winfrey to Tackle Menopause in Latest ABC Special

Oprah Winfrey has chosen “menopause,” a stage of life all women eventually encounter, as the theme for her upcoming ABC special.

On March 31st, I’m eagerly looking forward to tuning in for “An Oprah Winfrey Special: The Menopause Revolution.” This engaging hour-long show promises insights from Oprah as she engages with medical professionals, renowned celebrities such as Halle Berry, Naomi Watts, and Maria Shriver, along with everyday women, sharing their personal stories about perimenopause and menopause.

At about 48 years of age, Oprah Winfrey felt she was close to death due to rapid heartbeats. She consulted numerous doctors but found no answers until she read a book that mentioned heart palpitations could be a sign of bodily changes. This program aims to provide solutions for countless women across the country by discussing crucial information on mental health, sleep, weight, sex, and brain health. Our goal is to demonstrate that menopause can bring liberation to your life, with even better times ahead.

The latest special by Winfrey marks her third production for ABC within a year. Earlier shows focused on obesity, the emerging category of weight-loss medications, and artificial intelligence.

Apart from Berry, Watts, and Shriver, there are also other notable guests for the upcoming special event (to be recorded in front of a live studio audience). Among them are Dr. Mary Claire Haver, a renowned author and OB-GYN; Dr. Rhonda Voskuhl, a professor of neurology at UCLA; and comedian Leanne Morgan, whose Netflix comedy special, “I’m Every Woman,” delves into the topics of perimenopause and menopause.
