‘The White Lotus’: Sam Nivola Says Mike White Told the Cast to Watch ‘Southern Charm’ to Prepare

It seems that the third season of “The White Lotus” took some creative cues from the reality TV series, “Southern Charm.

Sam Nivola, portraying the youngest member of the Ratliff clan, has disclosed that the show’s mastermind, Mike White, advised him to tune in to a well-known reality television program.

Mike suggested we should tune in to ‘Southern Charm’,” Nivola mentioned. He elaborated on how actors alter their voices to mimic the distinct Charleston, South Carolina southern accent characteristic of the cast members from ‘Southern Charm’.

In the initial episode of this season, Patrick Schwarzenegger portrays Saxon, the eldest Ratliff sibling. Unlike his usual modesty, he wasn’t shy about being nude in front of his brother Lochlan. Schwarzenegger explained to The Hollywood Reporter that this choice wasn’t premeditated but rather an attempt to demonstrate to his brother how he believes one should live freely and honestly.

He went on to explain, “Mike and I focused on the character’s physical aspects, as this individual tends to strut around with an emphasis on his lower body. He seems confident about his looks and physique, believing all eyes are upon him. He pays little mind to those around him in the room.
