Ubisoft is all set for the formal release of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”, however, parts of the game have been sneaked onto the internet due to certain auction websites selling physical copies prematurely.
Although Ubisoft hasn’t managed to prevent leaks, they emphasize that the footage circulating online doesn’t showcase the final product, as it requires updates or patches to be downloaded before it reaches its complete form.
An ‘Unfortunate’ Leak
The leaked information is unfortunate, but it doesn’t show us what the game will look like when it’s fully completed.
As an enthusiast who’s been eagerly awaiting the release of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”, I’ve noticed some players have had a sneak peek at the game before its official debut. However, rest assured that our dedicated development team is busy polishing things up with patches to ensure the game’s launch version lives up to the hype. Any footage you might see online doesn’t showcase the final quality of the game we’re striving to deliver.
Even though parts of the game have been leaked online, Ubisoft acknowledges the efforts made by the community moderators in attempting to keep further spoilers at bay. In other words, they’re giving credit to these moderators for their actions aimed at minimizing additional leaks of the game online.
It’s unfortunate when information gets leaked, as it can lessen the enjoyment for others. We appreciate your consideration in not revealing any spoilers to preserve the experience for all. Thank you to our community for their efforts in keeping the fun intact.
Can Spoilers Ruin a Game Based on History?
In the AC series, the compelling aspect lies in its historical accuracy, suggesting that characters such as Oda Nobunaga may follow a similar path to their actual historical counterparts.
In addition, the mystical aspect of the game revolves around questioning what truly transpired and the covert influence assassins had on historical events. Therefore, if there are any spoilers, they will pertain to the original character, Fujibayashi Naoe, who is playable alongside Yasuke in the game.
What’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows about?
In the newest installment of the Assassin’s Creed series, players find themselves immersed in a period drama set during feudal Japan. They will need to maneuver through a complex society ruled by the actual historical character, Oda Nobunaga.
In this game, players have the ability to toggle between two distinct characters: the authentic, legendary samurai named Yasuke and the unique in-game persona known as Naoe, who boasts ties with the Brotherhood.
In contrast, Yasuke is a direct combatant, ready to face enemies boldly, whereas Naoe embodies the stealthy assassin, proficient in parkour and equipped for covert kills. Players can choose between these two characters based on their preferred strategy, opting for a powerful assault with Yasuke or a subtle approach using Naoe’s skills. Will they charge into battle with Yasuke, or will they select the stealthy route with Naoe?
Over time, the Assassin’s Creed games have grown significantly from their initial release, transforming into vast, detailed historical environments where gamers can lose themselves for countless hours. Although the series has established a familiar formula by now, Shadows aims to introduce some freshness by encouraging players to collect information within the game rather than having everything revealed directly.
There’s some uncertainty if gamers will consider it ingenious or monotonous, however, the developers are certainly attempting something fresh in this iteration.
Watch for Assassin’s Creed Shadows when it launches for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 on March 20.
