Debuting on HBO back in 2019, “Leaving Neverland” was a powerful documentary that centered around sexual abuse allegations made by two men who claimed they were abused as children by the renowned artist Michael Jackson. The film garnered widespread praise and received several accolades, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special. Directed by Dan Reed, a sequel titled “Leaving Neverland 2” is scheduled to premiere on streaming platforms next month. However, unlike what one might expect, it won’t be airing on Max. Instead, the documentary will make its debut on YouTube.
Shortly following its UK premiere on Channel 4 on March 18, Leaving Neverland 2 is set to debut in the U.S. and English Canada on YouTube. The rights for Reed’s hour-long sequel have been acquired by Little Dot Studios, who will broadcast it on their Real Stories channel on YouTube.
