Is there a possibility that Elon Musk might appear on The Daily Show in the near future, given Jon Stewart’s critique of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under the Trump administration, which is headed by another billionaire?
It’s possible that Musk reacted to a video shared on X (previously Twitter) on Tuesday by @FarzadMedia, named “Elon Musk Should Appear on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show.” In the opening of the 11-minute video, the user suggests, “If Elon Musk were to discuss DOGE for an hour on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show, I believe that such a conversation would significantly advance our nation’s understanding and implementation of these topics at all levels of government, from federal to local, including Congress and various municipalities.”

It could be that Musk responded to a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday by @FarzadMedia, titled “Elon Musk Should Guest on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show.” In the initial part of the 11-minute video, the user proposes, “Should Elon Musk have a one-hour discussion about DOGE on Jon Stewart’s Daily Show, I am confident that this discourse would lead to substantial progress in our nation’s comprehension and execution of these matters across various governmental entities, from federal to local, including Congress and city governments.
In response, Musk wrote, “I will do it if the show airs unedited.”
On Wednesday, The Daily Show appeared excited about Elon Musk’s proposal, expressing their delight by tweeting, “@elonmusk we’d love to have you!
The Hollywood Reporter contacted The Daily Show to check if any formal arrangements have been made for Musk to appear as a guest.
The offer from the billionaire emerged following Stewart’s passionate critique of DOGE, which transpired on Monday’s episode of “The Daily Show.” In his monologue, the host ridiculed the contentious pseudo-agency that has been trimming departments from the U.S. federal government as part of Trump’s initiative to drastically decrease spending, employment, and specific programs. Yet, Stewart proposed his own strategies for curtailing government expenditure.
What if we redirected the $3 billion in subsidies currently given to oil and gas companies, who are already making billions in profits? How about we end the loophole on hedge funds worth $1.3 billion annually through closing the carried interest loophole? And let’s stop the $2 trillion going to defense contractors for building a fighter jet that isn’t effective, when everyone knows future wars will likely be fought with drones and… blockchain technology, which I’m not quite sure about, oh my!
Later on, Stewart criticized the pharmaceutical sector, particularly taking aim at the Biden administration’s festivities over reducing the prices of ten medications. During this impassioned segment of his speech, the host accidentally injured his hand when he angrily shattered his cup.
