Marvel Rivals: How to Play as Loki

In Marvel Rivals, Loki functions as a Strategist rather than just a healer as one might anticipate. Instead, he possesses skills that not only inflict damage upon his adversaries but also sow chaos and fear among their ranks. To execute this, Loki predominantly utilizes his cunning abilities, which makes sense given his title as the Trickster God.

To put it simply, Loki is designed to be used tactically. His diverse set of skills can be lethal against your enemies if you understand the game’s mechanics well. In this article, we delve into all aspects of mastering Loki in Marvel Rivals. Keep reading for valuable insights!

Loki Abilities in Marvel Rivals

1. Mystical Missile

In Loki’s main attack, Mystical Missile, there are dual effects: Upon striking foes, it inflicts 30 points of damage. But when the missiles collide with allies, they restore 40 Health Points to those in a 3-meter vicinity instead.

It’s worth mentioning that when Loki uses his illusions, he has the power to replicate this effect. This means he can launch numerous missiles continuously, which significantly increases the frequency of the Mystical Missile, making it seem like twice or even three times as powerful.

If an ability causes harm to an opponent, it may compel them to change positions, thus creating openings for your teammates. Conversely, if the ability is a healing one, it can swiftly restore their health reserves.

2. Deception

In other words, Loki uses deception as a strategy when he’s in a fight he feels is too costly. As the term implies, deception allows him to trick his adversaries by creating a false image of himself at his previous location. While this illusion holds and he becomes invisible, Loki can restore 20 HP every second.

Furthermore, he won’t reappear in his physical form unless he launches an attack, summons a Doppelganger, or invokes the Devious Exchange.

3. Doppelganger

A skill akin to the one we previously discussed, with some overlap and beneficial complementarity, is known as Doppelganger. As the name suggests, Loki can create stationary illusions of himself, mimicking his main attacks and possessing specific abilities.

These illusions, which can only last for about a minute (or longer if not destroyed), have a powerful knack for tricking and perplexing Loki’s adversaries. In critical moments when Loki needs to escape or compel his enemies to regroup, this skill significantly boosts the effectiveness of his team.

4. Devious Exchange

In certain scenarios, this skill enhances Loki’s mobility. With Devious Exchange, Loki has the power to interchange positions with one of his active illusions within a 30-meter radius. This enables him to navigate tricky situations or deceive opponents if they take the initiative against him. Additionally, it can be employed to catch enemies off guard and respond effectively to their actions.

As a cunning gamer, I’ve found that illusions can serve as a sneaky advantage. Many opponents tend to underestimate them at a distance, providing the perfect opportunity for a strategic ambush. Once they get too close, I can spring my trap, dealing substantial damage to them unawares.

5. Regeneration Domain

Loki’s talent primarily serves a restorative and bolstering function for him and his companions. Empowered by Rune Stones, Loki generates an area where he and his illusions are continuously rejuvenated with 100 HP each second. Moreover, if teammates are within a 5-meter proximity, Loki can also bestow healing upon them.

A feature that comes along with it is the power to transform 30% of inbound damage into additional health restoration, thereby ensuring Loki and his allies maintain their resilience.

Given that the area is rune-powered, it’s important to note that opponents can demolish it. Therefore, it’s essential to think carefully when deciding on their placement.

6. God of Mischief (Ultimate)

Lokcanto’s distinctive talent includes his special move, famously known as the God of Tricks’ Ultimate. With this ability, Lokcanto temporarily takes on the form of either an enemy or an ally for 15 seconds. During this time, he can utilize all their skills except for Team-Up ones.

One benefit of using this Ultimate is that when Loki assumes the appearance of the transformed hero, his own Ultimate becomes fully loaded.

Loki’s Best Team-Ups in Marvel Rivals

Loki boasts a few associates that enhance his abilities and make him stronger when facing opponents. Here are a few of them we’ve talked about:

[List the allies you have in mind]

Hela

Because Loki and the Asgardian Deity share a sibling relationship, they make an effective duo. In combat situations, if Hela vanquishes an adversary, she can either resurrect or boost their health for both Loki and Thor. This collaborative skill is called Laufeyson Reborn, which empowers Loki to take bolder risks, engage in more conflicts, and ultimately emerge victorious against his foes.

Thor

In films and cartoons, these two brothers are frequently shown as adversaries, but on the battlefield, they work together remarkably well. The harmony between them in Ragnarok Rebirth means that Loki remains strong while Thor takes the brunt of the attacks, resulting in extended battles.

Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch has the power to alter reality, while Loki excels at deceiving opponents – a formidable duo indeed. With Scarlet Witch’s capacity to momentarily stun and immobilize her adversaries, Loki can take advantage of his offensive prowess. Moreover, he can also exploit this opportunity by positioning his deceptive doubles in tactical positions.
