Monster Hunter Wilds: How To Fast Travel

In “Monster Hunter Wilds“, there’s a shift from the usual large but confined areas to an expansive open-world setting. To traverse this vast open world more swiftly, players can either ride the new mount called Seikret or make use of the “MH Wilds” fast travel system.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, fast travel is limited to main locations and camps, however, you won’t be able to utilize this feature immediately. Here’s a guide on how to activate fast travel in Monster Hunter Wilds and the two techniques players can employ for swiftly traveling between designated spots.

In the game ‘Monster Hunter Wilds’, you can’t use fast travel right away, but there are ways to unlock it and move quickly between specific places. Here’s a guide on how to do that.

How To Unlock Monster Hunter Wilds Fast Travel System

As a Monster Hunter Wilds player, I’ve found that to gain access to quick travel, I must first discover and unlock at least one other fast travel point. The first significant location players will come across aside from the starting base camp is Kunafa, Windsong Village. After successfully completing the main mission titled ‘Village Of The Whispering Winds’, I was granted the ability to quickly travel between Kunafa and the Plains Camp.

For the first time in the open world, players will now have access to a new fast travel point upon this mission, even though they could’ve returned to the Plains Base Camp via fast travel earlier.

As the game progresses, players can set up Fast Travel Spots, known as Pop-Up Camps, at designated locations within each region. These camps function like Monster Hunter Wilds’ fast travel points in the expansive open world.

After finishing ‘To The Forest’, you’ll uncover more areas, each having their unique Base Camps as starting points. If you quickly teleport to a location on the Global Map without choosing a specific spot inside the region, you’ll end up at the base camp corresponding to that area.

How To Fast Travel In Monster Hunter Wilds

In the game Monster Hunter Worlds, your fast travel options are limited to Base Camps in each area, temporary camps called Pop-Up Camps within each region, and significant spots such as Kunafu and Windsong Village.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can swiftly move around by either navigating to a fast travel spot directly on your map, or by accessing the Quick Travel Menu which displays a list of all available camps and locations for quick selection.

  • Open up your minimap or full map, then zoom out as far as you can go within a region. This will highlight all available fast travel points and cut out any other map icons. Move your cursor over a fast travel point and press the A or X button. These icons will usually be larger than others if you stay zoomed in.
  • To see a list of available fast travel points, open up the full map, then press right on the D-pad to select the Fast Travel List menu. Open the menu to see a full list of all fast travel points you have unlocked without having to find them on the map.

As a seasoned Monster Hunter, once I’ve unlocked a second destination, I can instantly warp right into one of the Wilds locales from the World Map. Just pick the location you desire, and poof! I’ll be whisked off to the Base Camp that corresponds with my chosen locale.

In Monster Hunter World, there are no specific prerequisites for using fast travel other than exploring and discovering various locations, followed by unlocking the ability to establish camps. Establish numerous Pop-Up Camps, complete primary missions to open up new regions and significant locations, and you’ll find yourself with plenty of fast travel options in a short amount of time.
