Ingrid Andress Makes Surprise Return Following Controversial National Anthem Performance

Ingrid Andress is back with a bang, having come back even sooner than expected, following a performance of the national anthem that stirred up some debate.

I took the stage once more, this time at the electrifying Colorado Avalanche hockey game on a Friday night! In a clip shared on my social media (check it out below), you can catch me belting out “The Star-Spangled Banner” to an enthusiastic crowd filling Denver’s Ball Arena.

“We’re back baby. Thank you @coloradoavalanche,” she captioned the post.

In July last year, Andress faced harsh criticism after her out-of-tune performance of the national anthem at the Home Run Derby. The video of her performance swiftly spread on social media platforms. Subsequently, she publicly apologized via Instagram, admitting that she was intoxicated during the event and seeking help by checking herself into a rehabilitation center.

She clarified, “That wasn’t me who performed last night.” In my statement, I extend my apologies to MLB, all the fans, and this beloved country of mine for that subpar performance. I’ll keep you updated on how rehab is going; apparently, it’s quite enjoyable.

During that period, several people drew parallels between her performance of the national anthem and Fergie’s controversial rendition at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game. Andress, who has garnered four Grammy nominations during her career, including a nod for best new artist in 2021, is primarily recognized for her songs “More Hearts Than Mine” and “Wishful Drinking.” Additionally, she has collaborated on Grammy-winning songs such as Charli XCX’s “Boys” and Bebe Rexha’s “Girl in the Mirror.
