Initially, certain objects will be inaccessible as you embark on your journey. You’ll recognize these unnamed items by their placeholder symbol “???“. However, if you know the name of any item, you can create it instantly with the appropriate resources at hand. The recipes for the secretly hidden items will become clear once you acquire all the necessary components to craft them.

Alternatively, you can find the same Crafting List directly from the Start Menu within your tent. I personally prefer this method as it allows you easy access to all your gathered resources.

Should you use auto-crafting in Monster Hunter Wilds

Looking at the picture up top, you’ll notice a switch next to each recipe in the game. This game includes an automated crafting system designed to make things simpler for newcomers. When this auto-crafting setting is activated for an item, it will automatically create one when all necessary components are available.

For instance, to create Potions, you need Herbs. As you traverse the landscapes, gathering Herbs, they will transform into Potions automatically if ‘auto-crafting’ is enabled for that item. This rule holds true even for advanced recipes which call for two distinct components.

Initially, I found the auto-crafting feature quite convenient. Yet, it might lead to issues down the line because numerous recipes frequently require the same raw material. Manually crafting advanced items gives you control over what you want to produce. Also, depending on your chosen weapon, some items will be more essential than others for crafting effectively.

When I choose a Double-Blade setup, it’s crucial to maintain a good supply of Potions in my inventory, as this build tends to require more healing. Conversely, opting for a Long Sword provides ample opportunity for defensive maneuvers, which usually reduces the need for Potions.
