In the thrilling world of Monster Hunter Wilds, tracking down a colossal Vigorwasp is the last hurdle to unlock all my Palico buddy’s abilities. As part of the daring mission “A Gutsy Move”, my furry companion asks me to nab one of these health-boosting behemoths for its research on a new support move. Given that skill, Vigorwasp Revival, can revive me if I ever keel over, it’s definitely worth the time investment!
Just as you need to chase after the elusive Tracktail Lizard, Dapperwing, and various other species using your capturing tool, you’ll have to use your capture net for this mission. Alternatively, here’s where to locate a Giant Vigorwasp to finish that Palico quest of yours.
Monster Hunter Wilds Giant Vigorwasp location
In the season of abundance, you may encounter colossal Wasps of Strength within the Windward Plains. More precisely, they can be spotted around the oasis in location 13, or in area 10. However, keep in mind that these wasp infestations, known as Giant Vigorwasp Outbreaks, are not a regular occurrence. You might want to check the environmental forecast for updates on such events.
Large Greenwasp Specimens are effortlessly identifiable due to their oversized counterparts resembling common Greenwasps, but with a larger, green sac attached beneath. Similar to their standard counterparts, they carry a marker symbol with the same icon, though slightly darker in shade of green. Given that they frequently coexist with other Greenwasps, spotting them is straightforward.
After altering the time to an abundance within your tent and spotting a Giant Vigorwasp on the map, make your way there. Keep in mind that you should not approach it like usual; instead, prepare your capture net from the essential items section. When hovered over it, wait until the box turns orange before releasing the capture. This will allow you to seize the wasp.
If you’re finding it hard to locate a Giant Vigorwasp on your own, you have another option – ask your Palico for help! As long as your Palico is at a high enough level to have upgraded its “Attract Vigorwasps” ability, it can summon a Giant Vigorwasp during battle. Once summoned, you can easily capture the Giant Vigorwasp using your capture net. To check if your Palico has this upgrade, go to the “Palico Info” in the menu’s “Info” section and scroll down to “Attract Vigorwasps”.
