In celebration of the Series 7 chair reaching its 70-year milestone in 2025 (first designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955), Fritz Hansen is launching a year-long series of events, partnerships, and limited-edition products. To commemorate this anniversary, they have introduced the “7:14 AM” collection – a group of five colors drawn from the unique ambiance of Danish morning light.
Fritz Hansen’s latest color scheme includes shades of blue, violet, pink, beige, and green, intended to mimic the extended hues of a Danish autumn sunrise. The design’s base, originally chrome, has been revamped with an iridescent finish that changes depending on the light and perspective, adding to the ethereal influences of the collection.
Els Van Hoorebeeck, Creative Director at Fritz Hansen, commented that this chair is truly iconic and the Danish light is unique compared to anywhere else. When these chairs are stacked together, it gives you a sense of a seamless sunrise effect, as if the light is refracting.

Fritz Hansen preserves the authentic essence of the design by keeping the softly arched plywood seat and chromed tubular legs. The chair’s understated elegance and sleek beauty have made it a timeless classic, used in various settings from public to private spaces worldwide. Over the years, this iconic piece has become a significant reference point for other Modernist and mass-produced chairs.
For a restricted period until 2025, you can purchase the “7:14 AM” Series 7 collection by Fritz Hansen directly from their official website.
