Musicians Join Forces to Launch L.A. Wildfire Relief Livestream and Auction

Artists are uniting for a worldwide live broadcast and auction, aiming to aid musicians in Los Angeles who suffered due to the destructive wildfires in January.

Musicians for Fire Relief, working together with Sweet Relief Musicians fund, are organizing unique artist performances and conversations featuring musicians like Dawes, Jim James from My Morning Jacket, and Moby. Additionally, they’ll hold an auction offering rare memorabilia, signed instruments, and posters. Originating as a community-driven initiative by figures in the music industry, this event aims to gather funds for distributing grants that help with housing costs, medical bills, groceries, and other necessary expenses, as stated in a press release.

Jacob Tell, one of the co-producers of Musicians for Fire Relief, stated in a press release that what sets this particular gathering apart is its focus on aiding those who contribute significantly to our industry’s success. Notably, everyone involved from the industry is volunteering their efforts to organize and stage the event.

In our community, teamwork is key, and fortunately, we managed to gather some exceptional experts through collective effort,” Shelly Hartman stated in a press release. Meanwhile, co-producer Erik Koral commented: “Witnessing the destruction, I felt compelled to unite everyone for an extraordinary occasion – a heartfelt tribute to L.A., showcasing its rich history and music while aiding those who have suffered immense losses.

I’m thrilled to share that some amazing artists I admire will be attending too! That includes Goose, Butch Walker, Margaret Cho, Semisonic’s Dan Wilson, Travis’ Fran Healy, Nathan East, Chris Pierce, Ozomatli’s Asdru Sierra, and founding members of The Cure, Lol Tolhurst. What an incredible lineup, right?

The Musicians for Fire Relief event, hosted by Nic Harcourt, with interviews by Lyndsey Parker and Steve Baltin, will start streaming live on March 6 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. You can watch it on the event’s website (Nugs.net), as well as YouTube. For more details about the event, please visit their official website.
