A few days ago, creator of Suits, Aaron Korsh hinted that Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter wouldn’t be the sole original series cast member appearing in the upcoming spinoff. Now, according to Deadline, another well-known character from the original series is making a comeback in the franchise. Earlier, Korsh hinted that there would be at least one more original Suits character, but he didn’t specify their role.
Based on the latest updates disclosed today, it appears that Louis Litt, portrayed by Rick Hoffman, is set to reappear in the show again. Interestingly, it’s been suggested that Hoffman will only make an appearance in one episode of Season 1, but won’t be seen in any of the three episodes featuring Macht. However, if the series gets renewed for a second season, there’s a strong possibility he could return for additional episodes.
In the initial run of Suits, Litt emerged as a well-loved figure, despite being equally infuriating and amusing. He also had his signature phrase, “You’ve just been outwitted by Litt,” which was used whenever he bested someone, and it looks like this catchphrase will accompany him during his single appearance in LA.
In any spin-off of a hit show, cameo appearances are typically anticipated, and so Hoffman joining Macht’s cast isn’t unexpected. However, Korsch, the producer, mentioned that he prefers not to add characters without purpose – especially if the series is renewed for another season. When speaking with TVLine, he stated:

“We don’t just throw characters in for the sake of it.
While it seems that fans might appreciate seeing familiar faces from the original series, I worry that focusing solely on past characters could potentially undermine the appeal of the new franchise. Additionally, I don’t believe this approach would be beneficial for the legacy of the old franchise either.
‘Suits LA’ Has Not Lived Up to Its Predecessor…Yet
The TV series titled “Suits LA” revolves around a new group of characters striving to emulate the triumph of Pearson Specter Litt in Los Angeles, yet this doesn’t exclude numerous references and hidden gems for devoted viewers from the past. However, it appears that, despite the enthusiasm surrounding the show, its initial episodes didn’t quite meet the high standards set for them. Although the score has risen from an initial 33% to 39%, matching viewer approval ratings, it seems that more than a sprinkle of original characters won’t be enough to compensate for the series’ shortcomings.
As a passionate film aficionado, I’ve just come across an intriguing synopsis for an upcoming series: “Once a federal prosecutor in New York, I’ve now found myself at the helm of a high-powered law firm in Los Angeles. However, my firm is on the brink, and to keep it afloat, I must step into a role I’ve despised throughout my career. My team, a brilliant group of lawyers, are faced with testing their allegiances not only to me but also to one another. The lines between our personal and professional lives become increasingly blurred as we navigate through the challenges together. And to make matters worse, I must confront the past events that compelled me years ago to abandon everything and everyone I held dear.
The success or cancellation of Suits LA depends solely on its viewership. You can catch the latest episodes every Sunday at 9 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) and 8 p.m. Central Time (CT), with re-streams available on Peacock the next day.
