The content and sales platform MIPTV, which was unveiled by All3Media International, Banijay Entertainment, Fremantle, and ITV Studios five years ago, had an impressive 2025. Last week’s event witnessed a record-breaking turnout of 850 buyers worldwide.
The organizers have already begun preparing for the upcoming event next year, scheduled during the last week of February 2026.
By the spring of 2025, London had become an essential destination for global television industry professionals, replacing the void left by the closure of MIPTV in Cannes. The lineup boasted over 35 distributors and production studios hosting separate events. Notable attendees included heavyweights like Warner Bros. International Television Production, Disney, NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution, Sony Pictures Television, Paramount Global Content Distribution, Amazon MGM Studios Distribution, Cineflix Rights, Fifth Season, Studiocanal, and Beta Film, among others. These four organizers were joined by a host of studios and independents in London.
A representative from London Screenings stated that the showcase has become a must-visit location for unique, cutting-edge perspectives on top-tier shows and production styles. We’re excited to arrange an outstanding event for 2026, one that will be customized based on input we’ve received from buyers throughout the week,” said the representative.
2025 events spotlighted Andrew Lincoln’s comeback on British television. Known for his role in “The Walking Dead,” he made an appearance at the ITV Studios to reveal his upcoming British chiller, “Cold Water.” Fremantle presented their new adventure story, “Sandokan,” featuring Turkish star Can Yaman, while Banijay Entertainment displayed “Maigret,” a contemporary adaptation of the celebrated French detective novels. Lastly, All3Media International premiered the action thriller, “The Assassin,” with Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore in lead roles.
Notable mentions were made for “Sunny Nights” by Cineflix Rights, a series led by Trent O’Donnell, the mastermind behind “Colin from Accounts,” featuring Will Forte and D’Arcy Carden; and “A Prophet,” a television adaptation of Jacques Audiard’s renowned 2009 prison drama, distributed by Studiocanal.
In terms of content and structure, Banijay debuted the docuseries titled “7/7: The London Bombings” and the reality dating series “30 Dates and 30 Nights”. All3Media presented Chess Masters, a competitive chess program, while Fremantle unveiled its revamped game show based on Scrabble. ITV Studios highlighted Celebrity Sabotage, a hidden camera prank show for prime-time viewing.
