Cast Member Proposes Exciting Crossover Idea for Anne Rice’s TV Universe!

Following the completion of “Mayfair Witches” Season 2, there’s exciting news from the Anne Rice Universe. The third season of “Interview with the Vampire” and “The Talamasca” are scheduled for TV in 2025. Given the success of “Mayfair Witches,” it seems that television adaptations of Rice’s books could potentially intersect. But how might this crossover occur in the future? One AMC insider, a devoted reader of the author, recently proposed an intriguing concept.

During our chat, Jen Richards (Jojo Mayfair in the series) shared thoughts on making the upcoming season of ‘Mayfair Witches’ more interesting by having witches and vampires interact more.

In later years, Anne Rice expanded her work into cross-genre novels as well. One of my personal favorites among these is “Merrick,” a title from the Mayfair series that eventually transforms into a vampire. This twist might be considered a spoiler, but the book has been around for quite some time. There are numerous fascinating characters and potential storylines in this work.

I had a chat with Alyssa Jirrels concerning collaborating with Alexandra Daddario, and she shared some insights about where her character and Lasher stand at the end of Season 2.

In Anne Rice’s 2000 novel “Merrick,” characters from her “Vampire Chronicles” and “Mayfair Witches” series intertwine! The story centers around Louis de Pointe du Lac, portrayed by Jacob Anderson in the TV series. Strangely enough, he begins to be tormented by the ghost of Claudia, a child who was transformed into a vampire years ago by Lestat de Lioncourt, played by Sam Reid in the “Interview with the Vampire” series (which is widely regarded as one of the best vampire TV shows out there).

In the story, Louis finds himself seeking assistance from a witch named Merrick Mayfair, who possesses supernatural abilities to communicate with the deceased – specifically Claudia’s spirit. The Talamasca organization plays a role in this narrative as Merrick was previously associated with them. It is also revealed that Merrick undergoes transformation into a vampire within the course of the book, as discussed by Richards during our interview.

In the Vampire Chronicles series, there are 13 books, and it’s intriguing to consider Jen Richards’ thoughts on how the Mayfair Witches could intertwine more deeply within Anne Rice’s universe given that some pre-existing source material from the author supports this. Richards expresses a strong desire to adapt the novel herself, as she has mentioned in her statements.

Essentially, we’re all connected because we share the same production company, with some crew members working on multiple projects. Furthermore, my admiration for the show runs deep, making me feel like an integral part of this family. I’m simply bursting with excitement at being immersed in this expansive universe, just as a dedicated Anne Rice fan anticipates the many possibilities that the stories may take. As a writer at heart, I dream of adapting additional Anne Rice novels for the screen, believing they would be a fantastic addition to the collection, given the wealth of captivating characters.

It’s clear that we’ll need to observe the development of AMC’s Anne Rice Universe, given that “Interview with the Vampire” and “The Talamasca” are slated for release by the end of this year.

To this point, the blend of the Mayfair Witches and Interview With The Vampire storylines has been relatively insignificant to the main narrative, appearing more like an attempt to combine both series. However, as Jen Richards points out, there’s a wealth of potential for the writers to explore in this crossover.
