The upcoming 2025-2026 season for the Roundabout Theater Company on Broadway includes a reprisal of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Oedipus,” both starring Mark Strong and Lesley Manville.
Under the direction of Robert Icke, the production of Oedipus is making its way to Broadway following a successful West End stint. Starring Strong and Manville, this play has garnered four Olivier Award nominations and marked the Wyndham Theatre’s highest-growing limited run ever. The contemporary retelling of Sophocles’ Greek tragedy set on election night is scheduled to take place at Studio 54 for a 14-week run beginning in November.
The play is being staged by Sonia Friedman Productions, along with Sue Wagner, John Johnson, and Patrick Catullo, in partnership with Roundabout. This will mark Manville’s first appearance on Broadway, as she was previously nominated for an Oscar for her role in Phantom Thread. Strong, renowned for his screen roles in films like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Zero Dark Thirty, last graced the Broadway stage in the 2015 production of A View From the Bridge.
The “Rocky Horror Picture Show” is set to make a comeback at Studio 54 in spring 2026. This revival will be directed by Sam Pinkleton, who is also known for directing “Oh, Mary!”. At this point, the cast has not been revealed yet.
Beginning August 2025, the Todd Haimes Theatre will undergo a renovation project that is estimated to last approximately eight months. This renovation will focus on restoring the theater’s interior, completely overhauling the restrooms, and expanding the available accessible seating.
The theater is set to resume operations in early 2025, debuting a fresh rendition of Noël Coward’s “Fallen Angels.” This production will feature Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara as the stars, with Scott Ellis directing.
