This summer, Shah Rukh Khan’s famous home, Mannat, situated in Mumbai, is set for renovations. Reports suggest that he and his family will move elsewhere temporarily while the construction takes place. However, the project has run into trouble as an activist has voiced concerns over possible rule-breaking in the renovation blueprints. The activist has petitioned the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to step in and halt the work.
A report published by Bar & Bench on Monday indicates that activist Santosh Daundkar has submitted a complaint to the National Green Tribunal (NGT), arguing that Shah Rukh Khan and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) neglected to obtain the necessary Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) permission for renovating Mannat. Since Mannat is designated as a Grade III heritage building, any changes must first receive official authorization.
The report indicates that Khan plans to expand his six-story house by constructing two more floors. Furthermore, it claims that he changed twelve small apartments, initially meant for multiple families, into a single home.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has instructed Santosh Daundkar to provide evidence backing up his allegations by a specific date, which is within four weeks. If he fails to do so, his case might be dismissed. Judicial Member Dinesh Kumar Singh and Expert Member Vijay Kulkarni have emphasized that any violations committed by the Project Proponent or the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) must be substantiated by Daundkar, or else his appeal could be dismissed. The NGT has set the next hearing for April 23.
The famous home of actor Shah Rukh Khan, known as Mannat, stands out as a well-known attraction in the Bandra Bandstand district of Mumbai, regularly drawing crowds of fans who hope to spot the renowned Bollywood star.
Nestled within the exclusive area of Bandra, this stunning mansion now draws many tourists, frequently encircled by well-wishers eagerly awaiting a friendly gesture or snapshots.
In the professional sphere, following the successful release of films like Jawan and Pathaan in 2023, Shah Rukh Khan is now gearing up for his upcoming movie titled King. This film will be directed by Siddharth Anand and it’s set to feature Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan alongside SRK.
