Star Wars video games seem to be struggling to maintain stability, particularly after the negative response to Star Wars Outlaws and the shutdown of SW: Hunters.
Regardless of any issues, it’s clear that Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi series remains financially successful. Fans eagerly await news about a potential sequel, which they hope will be announced in the coming month.
Star Wars Celebration 2025
As per the official Star Wars page, there will be a panel revealing a turn-based strategy Star Wars game that is being developed by Bit Reactor and Respawn.
The official description reads: “Join Bit Reactor, along with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, for a first look at a new Star Wars turn-based tactics game.”
The panel takes place from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM, Saturday, April 19 on the Galaxy Stage.
No further details have been revealed, but rumor has it that besides the turn-based strategy game, Respawn is also ready to reveal their next entry in the Star Wars Jedi franchise following Survivor.
Star Wars Jedi 3

It’s worth noting that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor came out back in 2023, and although there was a lot of hype surrounding the release of the game, it didn’t manage to gather the same kind of excitement that Fallen Order managed to gain.
That being said, there was still a lot of praise thrown toward the game when it released, and a lot of fans love how it expands on the fighting style of Cal Kestis after Fallen Order. It’s just possible that the story didn’t manage to trump what fans got from the first game, which dealt with Cal’s history of surviving the Jedi Purge and getting hunted down by Inquisitors.
Just looking at the timeline though, it does seem like it would be too early for a third Jedi game to release following Survivor. At best, Respawn could be dropping a teaser, but it’s possible that this could be a completely different game entirely.
Until they make an official announcement though, all fans can do is wait.
The State of Star Wars Games

After a prolonged period, the Star Wars franchise struggled under the management of EA Games, and it became evident that there were issues when the last two Battlefront games had disastrous debuts.
Only in recent years did EA lose its exclusivity with Star Wars, and Lucasfilm Games was re-established to oversee a bunch of different projects in development with other studios.
Despite some recent disappointments, such as the less-than-successful releases of Outlaws and Hunters, fans remain hopeful that future Star Wars games will revolutionize the genre and provide long-lasting entertainment.
All Lucasfilm Games needs to do is approve projects with suitable studios, allowing Star Wars to produce a variety of games that cater to different types of fans. The universe is vast, and they have many promising titles in development—so all we can really do is be patient and wait to see what gets released.
Star Wars Celebration 2025 takes place from April 18-20. The Respawn/Bit Reactor panel takes place on April 19.
