Dia Mirza Demands Apology for Rhea Chakraborty After Witch Hunt

Actress Dia Mirza, well-known from Bollywood, has appealed on social media for an apology to Rhea Chakraborty following the dismissal of all charges against her in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

On her Instagram Stories, Dia Mirza penned, “Which media personality will show the class to issue a written apology to Rhea Chakraborty and her family for the witch hunt they were subjected to?

She stated, “You brought about severe distress and annoyance solely for TRP ratings. I urge you to apologize. This is the bare minimum that should be done.

On March 22, Dia Mirza reacted after the CBI submitted two separate case reports. One report dealt with allegations by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father against Rhea Chakraborty, while the other addressed accusations that Rhea had made against Sushant’s family.

In August 2020, it was handed over to me, as part of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), to delve into this matter that had previously been under the Bihar Police’s purview. After meticulous examination and investigation, the CBI has declared Rhea innocent in this case, absolving her of all allegations. Not only Rhea, but also her family members – her parents and brother, along with everyone else implicated in the case, have received a clean bill of health according to reports.

For those unfamiliar, Rhea Chakraborty became the focus of persistent media attention following the SSR death case. The extensive reporting and conjecture resulted in her arrest in September 2020, which led to her detention at Mumbai’s Byculla Jail in relation to the case. She spent 28 days behind bars before eventually being granted bail.

In response to the CBI’s closure report, Rhea Chakraborty’s attorney, Satish Maneshinde, applauded the agency’s conclusions and expressed appreciation for the comprehensive investigation carried out over the past four and a half years. He communicated his sense of relief that every angle was meticulously scrutinized before the case was ultimately closed.

Considering the circumstances related to the incident, he forcefully denounced the rampant misinformation and declared, “The excessive spread of false narratives across social media and traditional media was absolutely unwarranted. Blameless individuals were unfairly targeted and exposed to the media and investigative bodies. I fervently wish that such incidents do not recur in any future cases.
