Daisy Edgar-Jones is aware that many of her co-stars have been men the internet has swooned over.
For several years now, I’ve been fortunate enough to share the screen with some of Tinseltown’s most captivating leading men. From Paul Mescal in “Normal People”, Harris Dickinson in “Where the Crawdads Sing”, Andrew Garfield in “Under the Banner of Heaven”, Sebastian Stan in “Fresh”, Glen Powell in “Twisters”, to Jacob Elordi in “On Swift Horses”. It’s been a dream come true!
During a chat with Elle magazine, which was released on Tuesday, Edgar-Jones discussed collaborating with popular and heartthrob actors.
I’ve collaborated with most of the internet’s ‘leading men’, and I feel fortunate that each actor I’ve worked with has been exceptionally supportive of my leading roles. Glen, Sebastian, and Paul are just a few examples. I believe this is why they are so admired, successful, and talented: because they are incredibly generous and genuinely dedicate themselves to the story rather than their own self-interest. Glen was always concerned about Kate’s character development, asking, ‘What is Kate’s journey in this?’ Similarly, Sebastian was deeply invested in Noa’s journey. Working with Paul feels like playing tennis with a cherished friend.
She mentioned her concerns about a period when her luck with leading men might come to an end, referencing the prevalent arrogance often found in the movie business.
In 2020, the British actress gained worldwide recognition when she played Marianne Sheridan alongside Mescal in the popular TV series adaptation of the cherished novel “Normal People.” This role is one that Daisy Edgar-Jones admits she doesn’t tire of discussing.
She expressed a desire to recreate that connection once more. Despite the amazement of its reach, it’s been five years, and she’s grown older, eager to discuss various other topics as well.
Edgar-Jones expresses her aspiration when seeking new characters: she desires each role to exhibit complexity, depth, and multiple dimensions, as this reflects the essence of being human.
The actress addressed the public uproar concerning her character’s relationship with Tyler in the movie “Twisters” not developing into a romantic kiss, which was a significant source of dissatisfaction among viewers and sparked criticism.
She clarified that while many were disappointed about the lack of a final kiss, the character’s journey in the movie exceeded the scope of a typical romantic storyline.”
Or simply:
“She pointed out that the film’s narrative was more than just a love story, despite the absence of a kiss at the end.
In the forthcoming movie titled “Voyagers,” Edgar-Jones will be working together with another popular internet figure for a second time, as she stars alongside Andrew Garfield in the biographical film about renowned astronomer Carl Sagan.
