Full House Stars’ Throwback Christmas Party Photos Will Melt Your Heart

It’s amazing to think that it’s been almost 40 years since we were introduced to the Tanner family on ABC’s Full House. Many fans who adore the show weren’t even born when it debuted in 1987. The Olsen twins hadn’t celebrated their first birthday yet, and now Ashley Olsen is a mother. Candace Cameron Bure has a son who is married. Time’s passing is simply breathtaking, making throwback photos from a Season 1 party particularly poignant for me.

This blast of nostalgia comes to us thanks to Jodie Sweetin, who played middle sister Stephanie to CCB’s DJ and the Olsen twins’ Michelle. On the Instagram page of her podcast How Rude, Tanneritos!, which she co-hosts with Andrea Barber (aka Kimmy Gibler), Sweetin shared some pics from the cast’s Season 1 Christmas party.

Back in 1987, during the festive season, a young Jodie Sweetin was an absolute charmer! The photos I’ve seen just make me melt. Her sweater, oh that sweater, it’s simply adorable and reminds me of everyone’s favorite teddy bear, Mr. Bear himself!

The Instagram post features her alongside Bob Saget, who played her TV father Danny on Full House (available for streaming with a Max subscription), along with John Stamos (famously known as Uncle Jesse) and Dave Coulier (often mistakenly referred to as “Uncle Joey,” though he’s not related). Interestingly enough, Saget appears quite youthful in this ’80s throwback, which is another reminder of how time flies, considering it’s been three years since the untimely passing of the comedian.

In January 2022, Bob Saget passed away due to head injuries sustained after a performance in Florida. Since then, members of his “Full House” cast have been reminiscing and honoring him by recounting fond memories they shared with him.

On the post, it’s delightful to observe how closely bonded John Stamos appeared with Jodie Sweetin. Initially, it seems that Stamos had a rocky dynamic with his fellow cast members. He temporarily dismissed the Olsen twins, strained Bob Saget, and was apprehensive about being outshone by the adorable child actors.

However, it’s not possible to glance at that adorable Christmas party photo without considering the slightest doubt that he was not already fond of his television niece.

Experiencing nostalgia is always sweet when members of the Full House cast share memories from their past, sometimes making us feel rather old. This was especially true when they celebrated the sitcom’s 35th anniversary a couple of years back. To add to this, John Stamos posted an old photograph of himself with both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who were still toddlers at the time, wrapped in his arms.

The constant affection among these actors brings back memories of what made us adore Full House initially and keeps it one of Max’s top series today. To satisfy your craving for the Tanner family charm, don’t forget to watch some of the best episodes from Full House, as all eight seasons are now streaming.
