In the ongoing development of the Hulu reboot of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” fresh insights have surfaced about Sarah Michelle Gellar’s anticipated role and the identity of the new Slayer. Gellar originally embodied Buffy Summers in 1997, portraying her until 2003. The upcoming series, which was initially announced in February, had already hinted at Gellar’s return as Buffy. However, there have been discussions about the extent of her involvement in the new television show.
As reported by TV Line, Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character Buffy Summers may appear on the outskirts, acting as a mentor to Gracie, a young vampire expert, who is part of the latest iteration of the “Scooby” group. This new team will be helmed by Nova, a 16-year-old Slayer, described as intelligent and somewhat solitary. Joining her are Hugo, a confident nerd with a wealthy background who openly embraces his geekiness. Although these details haven’t been officially confirmed yet by Hulu or 20th Television, it seems that casting is currently being conducted for all three roles.
