The upcoming revival of “Malcolm in the Middle” will find its new home on Disney+. Disney has officially approved four episodes of this comedy series, with plans to feature the original cast members such as Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Justin Berfield, and Christopher Masterson.
12 years after the original series ended in 2006 following seven seasons, Bryan Cranston has been eager to return to the show. In an interview with Variety, he admitted, “I’ve been pushing for this project for a dozen years now. I kept saying, ‘Let’s do it, let’s do it, let’s do it.’ Finally, our creator, Linwood Boomer, grew tired of my persistence and came up with some fantastic, exciting ideas.” Regarding the plot timeline for the new series, Cranston stated, “The audience is reacquainted with this family. It’s been 20 years since we last saw them on TV. All the sons are now adults with families of their own. The dynamic has changed in that sense, but I wonder if Hal and Lois have truly evolved.
In simple terms, The upcoming series focuses on Malcolm, Muniz’s character, and his daughter who must go to Hal and Lois’ 40th wedding celebration. Although several characters from the initial cast have been confirmed, Dewey – previously portrayed by Erik Per Sullivan – is now played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark. The exact air date for the series hasn’t been revealed yet.
