There’s one individual who might persuade Ron Howard to resume his acting career, as he has primarily devoted himself to directing in the film industry.
The award-winning movie director has expressed his desire to act once more, but finds it challenging to find the time due to a busy schedule, as he shared with People magazine.
He mentioned that he’ll appear on an upcoming episode of ‘The Studio’, and he really enjoyed the experience.
In another scenario, Howard mentioned that his daughter, filmmaker Bryce Dallas Howard, might persuade him to return to acting. “I believe if my daughter Bryce asked me to be in a project, it would force me to set aside my directing duties temporarily and participate,” he explained.
He went on to say, “However, with the happenings at my firm, Imagine Entertainment, alongside Brian Grazer and our group, as well as my personal directorial endeavors, I manage to maintain a busy schedule that I find engaging and strive for success in. My aim is to concentrate my efforts.
In the early stages of his acting career, Howard gained fame for his performances in shows like “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Happy Days”. Following his departure from “Happy Days” in 1984, he has primarily taken on guest roles, often reprising his own persona or providing voiceovers. For instance, he narrated the series “Arrested Development”.
When it comes to filmmaking, it’s where Howard’s genuine enthusiasm truly shines. In an interview with People, he expressed that spending time behind the camera has been “an incredibly intriguing way of living.
Over the past ten years, he’s been dabbling in both documentary and scripted filmmaking, and he finds joy in both. He believes that these two fields are influencing each other in intriguing ways, sparking creative growth for him at this stage in his life. There is an abundance of stories and concepts, a shift in tastes and perspectives, which is altering the emphasis on plotlines and storytelling techniques in cinema.
Howard has directed multiple films, such as the Academy Award-winning “A Beautiful Mind,” along with “Frost/Nixon,” “Apollo 13,” “Hillbilly Elegy,” “Rush,” and “Jim Henson: The Innovative Pioneer.
