Growing up in the ’90s, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell were unquestionable cornerstones of my childhood television experience. With their exceptional duo dynamic from shows like “All That” and “Kenan & Kel,” as well as the iconic “Good Burger,” I’d be happy to tag along with them anywhere. The news that these two are drawing inspiration from the Fast and Furious gang for “Good Burger 3” doesn’t alter my feelings in any way.
Though Thompson will be frequently appearing on TV again in 2025 through Saturday Night Live, the Game Shakers actor has been making a gradual comeback to television. At the ’90s Con, Mitchell discussed his timeless roles and hinted at upcoming projects. As reported by People, this former child star subtly revealed that he and Thompson had agreed on Good Burger 3 towards the end of the sequel, and it’s here where Fast and Furious fits in:
Indeed, that’s the plan — we hinted at it earlier. Towards the film’s conclusion, I remarked, “We’re off to space! Let’s apply the Fast and Furious spirit to this adventure.
As a fan eagerly anticipating the latest adventure, I can hardly fathom how they’ll recreate the cosmic voyage depicted in F9 and transport it into the realm of Ed and Dexter. Yet, I’m more than ready for this wild ride! The concept might seem outlandish, but it’s exactly the kind of craziness I adore from these talented Nickelodeon veterans. As a young viewer, I used to ponder, ‘What wondrous escapades await Kenan and Kel in the future?’ Now, I can finally cross that burning question off my list (past the original sequel). Thankfully, it appears the turbulent times of K&K’s creative differences and the infamous SNL feud are behind us.
As a devoted fan, I can confidently assert that I, along with fellow enthusiasts, would eagerly embrace any new venture from our favorite creators, even if there were pauses between their works. However, we’re in luck! Mitchell, the mastermind behind it all, has confirmed that we won’t have to endure such a wait for the long-anticipated sequel of “Good Burger”, a film brimming with fun and nostalgia. But
Kenan and I had a chat about the script for part three, and we’re determined to get it done. We want to ensure it’s as good as Good Burger 2, so we won’t keep fans waiting more than 15 years.
Once more, my trust in their work remains unwavering. It’s not clear whether they draw inspiration from cherished memories of youth or if their collaboration results in consistently creative and side-splitting output – that part still needs to unfold. Regardless, I find myself eagerly anticipating their future projects.
Additionally, Mitchell hinted at potential talks about reviving “Kenan & Kel“, focusing on the old pals now being dads, drawing from genuine aspects of their real lives. It all seems quite exciting, so I’ll make sure my Paramount+ subscription is ready and waiting when it becomes available.
For the time being, I’ll strive to assemble a captivating “Fast and Furious”-esque narrative for “Good Burger 3,” as Mitchell pointed out.
