Wes Anderson‘s next feature The Phoenician Scheme revealed its first trailer at CinemaCon.
An upcoming movie features Benicio del Toro and Mia Threapleton in the roles of a troubled father-daughter duo. Although the trailer hasn’t been released yet, it starts with del Toro’s character appearing battered and wounded following his sixth airplane accident.
Onstage, no specifics about the storyline were revealed, but there were numerous battle sequences depicted. Del Toro suggests to Scarlett Johansson’s character that she take a hand grenade in one moment, which she declines.
This outstanding group of actors features Michael Cera, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Riz Ahmed, Jeffrey Wright, Richard Ayoade, Rupert Friend, Hope Davis, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Phoenician Scheme revolves around a business family, with a primary focus on espionage activities. Focus Features will initially release this movie in selected theaters on May 30, followed by a wider release on June 6.
Anderson often teams up with familiar talents and crew members, as he did for this Germany project he’s spoken about before.
Last year at Annecy, I shared that newcomers on my movie set often find it peculiar. This isn’t how films are usually produced, but then again, each director has their unique quirks. My methods, which trace back to my initial film project, are no exception.
Every year, CinemaCon takes place, a gathering specifically designed for cinema exhibitors and movie studios, happening this year from March 31st through April 3rd. This event is organized by Cinema United, previously known as the National Association of Theatre Owners.
