Jason Blum `Addressed The Five Nights In Freddy’s 2 Elephant In The Room As First Look Drops: ‘I Know’

For over a decade, the popular video game franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s has consistently ranked high among its peers. In 2023, this property received a film adaptation, which proved to be commercially successful. As a result, a sequel was approved for release in 2025’s movie schedule. We are now just over half a year away from the debut of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, and during a recent panel at CinemaCon’s Universal Pictures and Focus Features event, Jason Blum addressed a significant issue related to the upcoming video game movie. This announcement coincided with the release of the first glimpse of the sequel.

First, let’s discuss Blum’s statement regarding “Five Nights at Freddy’s”. You might remember that it was a simultaneous theater and streaming release, meaning it premiered in cinemas on the same day it became accessible for Peacock subscribers. However, during a live appearance dressed as Freddy, the head of Blumhouse Studios revealed that this won’t be the case for the sequel. In simpler terms, he announced that the sequel will not have both theater and streaming release on the same day.

I understand that everyone’s feeling let down by the first movie being exclusively on Peacock. However, some good news: Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is set to hit the big screen in December!
