Ben Affleck and his crew showcased fresh material for the highly anticipated sequel of “The Accountant 2” at CinemaCon.
Affleck, along with director Gavin O’Connor and other cast members, gathered for a promotional event for the upcoming sequel to the 2016 original. This new installment, produced by Amazon MGM Studios, is set to release in theaters on April 25th.
It’s truly enjoyable to carry on the tale of ‘The Accountant,'” Affleck expressed to the audience from the stage. “I’m excited to reprise my role in this fantastic ensemble. In a sense, it seems like I never let go of this character.
Co-actress Daniella Pineda hinted that her character might match up well against Ben Affleck’s Christian Wolff. “I’ve got some intense action sequences coming up that are going to look fantastic on your screens,” she shared.
Jon Bernthal, the actor portraying Braxton, Wolff’s younger brother, shared with the crowd that Wolff relies on Braxton, but Affleck expressed some doubt. “I’m not sure Christian needs Brax that much,” Affleck joked. “It’s not essential. It’s beneficial.” Bernthal countered, “A wolf requires its pack.
The trailer depicts Affleck’s character meeting up again with Bernthal, following the scene where J.K. Simmons’ character’s body is displayed at the morgue. In the clip, Bernthal says to Affleck, “It’s been a while, right?
Later on, my gaming buddy and I stumbled upon an unexpected moment of camaraderie when we found ourselves squaring off against some rowdy bar-goers. As I surveyed the situation, I couldn’t help but think, “My bro wasn’t exactly enjoying himself tonight, but this little altercation is about to change that.
Cynthia Addai-Robinson and Allison Robertson round out the cast for director O’Connor.
At this event, the Amazon MGM Studios made their inaugural CinemaCon appearance following the merger, and more importantly, since they’ve taken over creative control of the James Bond series. The studio’s representatives hinted at their intention to put out at least a dozen movies in theaters throughout the year.

Dani Bernfeld, Kevin Halloran, Michael Joe, and Alison Winter from Artists Equity will serve as executive producers, along with Scott Lastaiti and Jamie Patricof.
