Despite Chris Pratt not being mentioned during the recent Avengers: Doomsday announcement on a YouTube livestream, he has indicated that we haven’t yet seen the end of his character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Known for portraying Star-Lord (Peter Quill) across the Guardians of the Galaxy series and other MCU movies, Pratt hinted at a potential return even though his chair was missing from those confirming the cast for Avengers: Doomsday. The finale of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy suggested such a possibility, but it’s interesting to note that Pratt’s name didn’t appear on the chairs signifying the confirmed cast members for Avengers: Doomsday.
During an interview with Collider about his latest sci-fi thriller “Mercy”, Pratt humorously commented on his current role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He joked that he thought his name was supposed to be on one of the chairs, but the camera “apparently switched focus” during the announcement of “Avengers: Doomsday”. The announcement was a live stream showing names on chairs. The camera moved slowly and the broadcast lasted over five hours. This is what Pratt humorously suggested about his name being missing from the list.
I can’t say for certain, but it seemed quite distant. They likely switched to another scene. I’m uncertain about the details. All I know is that it appeared to be present at some point, and I’m confident of that.
Although Pratt won’t appear in Avengers: Doomsday for the time being, it doesn’t rule out the possibility of him reprising his role in another Marvel film or series. With the extensive Marvel Studios universe offering numerous opportunities, and considering his own statements, fans can be confident that Star-Lord will make a comeback at some point.
For those who are fond of me, I can’t reveal exactly where they’ll spot Star-Lord next, but I can assure them that the iconic Star-Lord, whom we pledged to bring back at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, will indeed make his return.
In the upcoming movie, neither Pratt nor any other Guardians were mentioned in the announcement about returning characters. This also applies to other popular Marvel Cinematic Universe figures like Tom Holland as Spider-Man and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. At this stage, it’s uncertain if they won’t appear, but the current indications aren’t promising.
Which MCU Characters Will Return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’?
The movie “Avengers: Doomsday” has likely been in development ever since we watched the Marvel team of superheroes save the world years back. However, the resurgence of the Avengers team officially commenced its filming a few days ago, and Marvel Studios announced it with an exhilarating live stream on YouTube.
In the recent announcement about the upcoming superhero blockbuster, “Avengers: Doomsday”, while Chris Pratt’s name was not included, several other notable actors were mentioned. These include Chris Hemsworth portraying Thor, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, and Letitia Wright as both Shuri and Black Panther. The announcement also revealed that the movie will incorporate characters from the upcoming films “Thunderbolts” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”, and it will introduce characters originally from the “X-Men” franchise. Interestingly, instead of reprising his role as Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. will bring Doctor Doom to life in this film.
