87-year-old actor Manoj Kumar, a veteran in the Indian film industry, has sadly passed away, leaving a profound impact and causing sorrow amongst his fans. Ever since this morning, people have been reminiscing about him fondly and sharing heartwarming stories of their interactions with the acting legend. Saira Banu, another senior actress, who had the honor to work with Kumar in the 1962 film “Shaadi,” also shared her memories of him.

In a recent Instagram post, Saira Ji shared that the classic movie holds a special significance for her because it marked her first collaboration with Manoj Kumar. She reminisced about her initial shyness and discomfort on set, particularly during romantic scenes. To make her feel more at ease, her thoughtful co-star would leave the set whenever solo shots of Saira were being filmed. Despite their reserved natures, there was a unique sense of comfort in their professional partnership.

Speaking warmly about Manoj Kumar, the actress referred to as ‘Shagird’ stated that he held a great deal of respect for her mentor, actor Dilip Kumar. “Their relationship was special, they enjoyed cooking together, experimenting with various omelette recipes, flying kites, and spending hours engaged in poetry,” she shared.

Saira Banu’s loving tribute to Manoj Kumar:

Looking back, she fondly remembered the late great legend, mimicking Dilip Ji’s gestures while filming Aadmi. This brought a sense of warmth and camaraderie to the set. Additionally, after marrying Dilip Kumar, she chose to end her acting career, having already committed to star in Purab Aur Paschim opposite Manoj Kumar.

Instead of casting another actor to replace Saira Banu, the Mera Naam Joker star graciously decided to postpone the film, demonstrating his noble character. The esteemed actress ended her heartfelt message by saying, “Though Manoj ji is no longer physically with us, a gentleman like him continues to live on. Farewell, Manoj ji. You were not just an outstanding actor, but also an extraordinary human being.
