Loveyapa: Khushi Kapoor brings unique challenge as her film with Junaid Khan releases on OTT; ‘Before you troll me…’

Khushi Kapoor made her first appearance on the big screen with the release of the movie she starred in. This film was a romantic comedy, and she acted opposite Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan. The movie has now been released on an OTT platform (JioHotstar). As for Khushi, she presented viewers with an intriguing challenge: watch her film on JioHotstar. However, she playfully hinted that there was more to the challenge before people began teasing her online.

On the 5th of April, 2025, JioHotstar, the streaming service belonging to Loveyapa, posted a video featuring Khushi Kapoor. In this video, she addressed all the couples and presented them with a challenge.

She suggested, “I’d like you to stream my movie ‘Loveyapa’ on JioHotstar. Just a heads up, this isn’t a challenge in the traditional sense. The fun part is that I encourage all the guys to watch this film on their girlfriends’ devices, and for the ladies, I invite them to watch it on their boyfriends’ devices.

The situation mirrored the storyline from the film where Khushi Kapoor’s character, Baani, and Junaid Khan’s character, Gaurav, exchanged their phones. This scenario served to evaluate their relationship as they uncovered each other’s hidden truths.

My performance alongside Junaid was commendable, and not for a single second did it become monotonous or dull.” Additionally, many people expressed their hope that the movie would perform well at the box office. Needless to say, there were numerous red hearts and heart-eyed emojis left as tokens of appreciation.

Besides Loveyapa, Khushi Kapoor appeared in another romantic comedy titled “Nadaaniyan” this year. This movie was also the first acting project for Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, as well as the directorial debut of Shauna Gautam. The story unfolds in a college setting, and you can stream it on Netflix since it was a direct-to-digital release.
