The anticipation is building as we approach Season 2 of Marvel Rivals, where players are invited to attend the Hellfire Gala on Krakoa, an event orchestrated by the upcoming character, Emma Frost.
It’s been verified that Frost will indeed become a Vanguard hero within the game, and NetEase recently shared a video showcasing her robust skills.
Emma Frost Abilities Breakdown
During a recent display of gameplay featuring Emma, it’s demonstrated that the majority of her abilities stem from her psychic powers and effectively utilizing her diamond form. Take a look!
Emma Frost, a member of Krakoa’s Quiet Council, warmly invites you to join the spectacular revival of the Hellfire Gala! Given the current chaos in the timelines and Mutantkind being spread far and wide, the White Queen is rekindling her annual event to welcome both old friends and newcomers to the vibrant island.
A well-off influencer in fashion, Emma Frost is also a strong telepath. She deploys her mutant powers to overpower her adversaries as she works towards creating a secure sanctuary for her fellow mutants.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been keeping an eye on Emma since the latest game updates. Although official analysis from NetEase is yet to be released, fellow gamers and I have been piecing together her abilities based on what we’ve seen in the video. Here’s my take on Emma’s skills:
1. Rapid Healing – Emma seems to possess a quick healing ability that could potentially save us in tight spots during battles.
2. Energy Shield – She appears to have an energy shield that can protect her and teammates from incoming attacks, providing strategic cover when we need it most.
3. Area Damage – Judging by the video, Emma’s attacks seem to affect a wide area, making her a valuable asset in team fights.
4. Crowd Control – Her abilities also suggest she has crowd control capabilities, which could help us manage enemy mobs and keep our focus on the main targets.
5. Supportive Buffs – Lastly, Emma seems to have supportive buffs that could boost our stats or provide temporary advantages during combat.
- Primary Attack – Psychic Rey – Emma projects a psychic beam on enemies, and it supposedly also charges up a meter that’s around the crosshair. It’s unclear what the meter charges, but some think this could increase the damage of the Psychic Rey or charge up the Diamond Form.
- Secondary Attack – Psychic Barrier – Emma projects a diamond barrier in front of her, and she can also control where it stops.
- E – Mind Crush – A unique ability that has Emma draw a ‘Psychic Totem’ from enemies, and she can attack that instead to instill critical damage on the target.
- Shift Skill – Diamond Form – Emma takes on her Diamond Form for a total of 6 seconds. In this form, she becomes a melee attacker, and it also looks like she’s going to be immune to getting knocked back or moved.
- Diamond Form Abilities:– Primary Attack – Diamond Shock – Emma gets increased damage with her diamond punches.– Secondary Attack – Diamond Kick – A knockback ability that can move enemies; enough to push them off a map if positioned properly.– E – Diamond Slam – Emma grabs enemies by the throat and slams them to the ground. This can be made into a combo finishing off with the Diamond Kick.
- Ultimate – Mind Control –Emma projects a psychic beam that forces enemies to face her; there’s also a noticeable diamond-shaped charge above their health when this happens, and it looks like when it’s filled up, the enemies caught in the beam will start walking toward Emma—Perfect for crowd control and combos with other ultimates.

Teamwork Capabilities (Psylocke and Magneto) – During the recent developer update, a team-up ability was demonstrated between Emma, Psylocke, and Magneto. This feature will enable Emma to create illusions of both Psylocke and Magneto to confuse opponents, similar to Loki’s doubles. However, unlike Loki’s clones, these illusions cannot inflict harm on players.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve noticed some whispers about an unseen skill that might be lurking in the game. Based on the footage I’ve seen so far, it seems like that’s all we can guess for now.
Marvel Rivals‘ second season commences on April 11th. The game can now be played on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers.
