SVU’s Rollisi Moments Stunned, But This Guest Star Stole the Show!

In the TV series Law & Order: SVU, Carisi’s story usually doesn’t extend over multiple episodes, but following his traumatic hostage incident at the end of 2024, it carried on into the 2025 television schedule. The drama seemed to conclude this narrative with the “Accomplice Liability” episode, which aired on April 3 and is now available for streaming with a Peacock subscription. This arc was particularly memorable for Peter Scanavino’s performance, and it also brought Kelli Giddish back as Rollins. The episode that ultimately led to the capture of the villain contained some poignant Rollisi moments. However, I was anticipating these scenes to be the best aspect of “Accomplice Liability,” but for me, the standout performance was delivered by guest star Paige Herschell.

The entire storyline has been terrific for Peter Scanavino, and the teaser for “Accomplice Liability” had me eagerly anticipating Kelli Giddish’s performance when Rollins testified. Moreover, their on-screen chemistry from their early days as partners (Carisi and Rollins) has always been strong. I had high expectations for their performance in this episode, and they didn’t disappoint!

It came as a surprise to me that in the latest episodes of SVU, they reintroduced Paige Herschell, with Tess taking the spotlight. In my review of the winter finale from November 2024, I even paused my usual accolades for Peter Scanavino to acknowledge the exceptional performance by the guest star. The scream Tess let out upon reaching safety after an assault was truly spine-tingling.

In rephrasing your text,

Velasco’s comment about watching over Tess on “Accomplice Liability” struck me as particularly sincere because he was present at the deli, and the sound of her scream is something he said he would never forget. Just like Velasco, I can’t forget that haunting scream either! To make sure viewers didn’t miss it, SVU included a recap of that chilling scream right at the start of the episode.

In the latest episode, it became clear that Tess faced harder struggles than initially depicted during the winter finale of 2024, adding depth to her character in “Accomplice Liability.” Her situation had deteriorated to the point where she resorted to drugs and theft from a friend. The episode showed Tess’s frequent hospital visits, and her courtroom testimony was compelling yet distressing. This season, number 26, has been notable for presenting victims in unique ways, making it an enjoyable experience for another guest actor.

From the very start, I’ve found this storyline difficult to follow, particularly since the initial episode at the deli. This has been further emphasized by Carisi carrying his traumatic past into his work until Benson provided him with a much-needed jolt. While Paige Herschell’s portrayal is certainly one of the highlights of this arc, I can’t help but hope that her time on SVU opens doors to even greater opportunities for her. She has previously appeared in roles on shows such as The Orville, Lioness, Billions, and FBI, all part of the nine-show Dick Wolf TV universe.

Significant events are approaching for the TV universe associated with the Law & Order franchise, as SVU and the original series will team up for a two-part crossover event airing on Thursday, April 17 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. To sweeten the deal, NBC will broadcast the Season 5 premiere of Law & Order: Organized Crime in its usual 10 p.m. ET time slot. The rest of the season, however, will only be available exclusively on Peacock after that.
