Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor are preparing for the debut of their film titled Raid 2. The two actors recently appeared at the trailer launch and shared insights about their roles in the movie. Ajay discussed acquiring a ‘new spouse’ in the film, while Vaani commented on portraying Ajay’s partner following Ileana D’Cruz.
In the 2018 film Raid, Ileana D’Cruz portrayed Ajay Devgn’s on-screen spouse. At the premiere event for the sequel on April 8, 2025, when asked about his character Amay Patnaik acquiring a “new wife,” Ajay confirmed this. He explained that characters can evolve, stating, “You notice this in many Hollywood movies too. Yet James Bond, played by Sean Connery, is not the same. It’s the character we follow, and new people come into play.
Later on, Vaani Kapoor was questioned about her role as Ajay Devgn’s wife in Raid 2 since she was referred to as ‘the next one.’ With a smile, she responded, “There’s no jealousy towards the previous one. We have a fantastic relationship off-set.
Vaani expressed that the actor was sincerely striving to portray their character truthfully, as instructed by the director and scriptwriter. She felt that this movie demonstrated her skills in a unique and invigorating manner compared to her previous roles. To her, it was both novel and revitalizing.
Additionally, Vaani commended Ajay for his compassion and giving nature. Moreover, she disclosed that she is an introvert and needed some time to become comfortable. To add, she mentioned that he even found amusement in her less engaging discussions.

In addition to Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh, the actors featured in Raid 2 also include Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak, and Amit Sial. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak are the producers of this film. Raid 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2025.
