Pokémon Unite’s India Qualifiers wrap with S8UL set to represent the country at the WCS finals

It looks like an exciting time for esports! Not only is the PUBG Mobile Grand Opening (PMGO) finals set to begin later this week, but the competitive scene for Pokémon Unite is also gaining momentum. This is because S8UL has been chosen to represent India at the World Championship series following their successful completion of local qualifiers.

For S8UL, it will be particularly gratifying as their performance was subpar during the Pokémon Unite Asia Champions League, where they exited prematurely and missed out on qualification for the ACL tournament. Now, they’re bound for the WCS finals in the USA this August instead.

In the India Qualifiers, there was no shortage of excitement as S8UL began their journey with a loss in their first match, pushing them to compete from a more challenging lower bracket. However, they managed to dominate Team Dynamis, QML, and familiar rivals Revenant XSpark by the end of the Qualifiers, leaving quite an impression.


Championship Performance

For S8UL, this level of achievement isn’t entirely new since they had already been selected to represent India in the 2024 WCS. Unfortunately, the team faced difficulties in obtaining visas for the tournament held in Honolulu, which prevented them from participating before the competition started.

Given the current complications surrounding international travel to the U.S., it’s undoubtedly a concern for our team. However, we hope that such an issue won’t arise again. With luck, S8UL will have the opportunity to shine on the global stage at the WCS 2025 finals this coming summer.
